Is this road open? I’ve never wheeled up there north of Red Feather lakes but it looks like it could be fun. Anyone wanna plan something up here?

I could go for a ride up there. I don't know status. I wouldn't say there's much 'wheeling' aside from county roads that don't get plowed in the winter.
Deadman - listed as closed
Sand Creek - listed as closed
I don't see Halligan Reservoir listed
https://funtreks.com/off-road-trails/cherokee-run-halligan-reservoir/
This section of road can be a good challenge:

This stretch might have some challenge - the far east end is a shady, uphill heading west. Chains likely needed. A 1/2 or 3/4 mile later the road is likely bare. Farther west I have encountered un-plowed and well snow covered.

The week the wildfires started we were packed and ready to go up there on a long route from Estes Park to New Castle via the North Sand Hills which ofcourse did not happen, hoping to do something this year. It's wonderful up there, very few people and lots of moose. I'm interested but it's probably going to have to wait until late spring / summer with the snow they get up there and the fire damage. http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/arp/recreation/?cid=stelprdb5300963

My club goes up there snow bashing often, it can be really fun when the snow is deep. A couple of our trip planner were up there scouting this past weekend and there isn't much snow yet.
In December we went to Boulder Ridge and Sand Creek, there was some snow 18"-24" and a few drifts.

I thought I read Cherokee Park road is open year round other than snow closing it..... the spurs off of it are closed from what I could tell also. The road seems to go way back and my thought was that with the small amount of snow we've had so far it could be fun to see how far back we can go ;)
Looking at the map, it starts at 5800 ft elevation and slowly ascends as the road goes west to northwest. It takes 21 miles before it gets to 8000 feet of elevation, which isn't really that high (I live at 8500) but there will likely be snow drifts around that altitude but we could get in 10+ miles for sure and maybe close to 20.....

Looking for an excuse to get on the trail one of these Saturdays. If this ends up happening next Saturday, I'll be interested to join if not too much snow

Ditto: was wanting to stay closer to home next weekend but the company would be worth the drive. I'll see how things shape up for next weekend.

Yea I read this was a good winter trail until too much snow falls..... which hasn’t really happened yet! I think I’ll actually bring the Jeep, had to jump start it today and greased all the joints and driveshaft & ripped thru all the snow on my property with ease! Forgot how awesome this thing is! I will need to buy a new battery this week but I’ll post this up for Saturday!

These are from my club's trips. The snow can be much deeper than shown in the videos.

It's been snowing here at the house since early this morning. Several inches of accumulation here.

1.5" in FoCo - two inches would be a stretch. Just spoke with a client near Pinewood Reservoir (foothills west of Loveland / Carter Lake) - only 2" up there.

Not a ton of accumulation here also, but it has been coming down steadily until the last hour or so.
I think I figured out how to route my CB antenna cable finally. I should have it wired up before Saturday. There's a lot to do on the Jeep to with all of my projects going at once, so little things like the antenna keep getting deferred.

It’s good news for wheeling so maybe we will be able to get a ways in before the snow is too deep

Bummer - we'll take pix for ya!
So, for the folks going - any thoughts as to a plan? We don't need no stinking plan?

Plan is to get up and drive to Fort Collins. I hope Matt had a plan beyond that.
