Anyone interested in getting out this weekend? I'm open to other trails within 2 hrs of Denver that avoid I-70...

I might be depending on how much snow we get between now and then. Tires are getting worn and I have no chains. I would likely make a decision Sat pm.

Gotcha, I'll be keeping an eye on the weather as well. FYI for anybody considering, I do have chains and can give a pull if necessary.

I'll say yes. No matter the weather (last I heard "not much" will come of this passing system).

Based on that I am a likely yes.

Meet? I have no preference / game for anything / have all day.

The last time I ran it we met at the north end and went south to the mid-point and turned up pensy gulch:

It's been a years since I was on the southern section. I do not know of any obstacles / playgrounds on the southern section. I know there's Cliffhanger (2.0?) on the northern section (which is likely snowed closed).

Looking at the map at TrailsOffroad, it seems there's a southern terminus, mid-jump off/on, and northern terminus.

It depends on what folks want to do - run all of it or just 1/2 of it. If only half, which half, and maybe run something else in the area? If all of it - what direction? If all of it - a slight pref would be north to south as running southerly gives better views for the driver (out over the plains).

That's my mental ramble - what's on your mind?

I usually meet at
Switzerland Trail Trailhead
Sugarloaf Trail, Boulder, CO 80302

I would not be interested in north of Gold Hill Road and personally find the West end (west of sugarloaf) out to pk 2 pk on the boring side unless running Gordon Gulch.

Considering all the above, I say we meet where Switzerland intersects Gold Hill Rd https://goo.gl/maps/adzCdxKk4sttWN157 then run Switzerland south, then west at Sugarloaf to Gordon Gultch, end at Peak to Peak. Rough calculation puts that trip, without any detours, at about 15 miles. Just cutting it off at Sugarloaf would be too short of a trip for me, gotta maximize the time I'm out of the house :lmao:

Cool. I've yet to visit Gordon Gulch.

That sounds fine to me though I’d probably bail at Sugerloaf. It can get quite snowy in Gordon Gulch. Feeling my age and not into snow bashing at all right now.
