Yessiree - a nice day to be out. A leisurely ramble on the rolling plains - jumping from one cow-pie strewn well / watering hole to another. A stop at the Wiggins Telephone repeater tower.

The exit at the missile site was unexpected - I crested a hill and the open space ahead was packed with cars and people - a model rocket club uses the site as one of two launch locations. We stopped and watch several rockets launch and called it a day.

The area was in use - longer range rifle marksmen were practicing.

Had a great time camping in east Pawnee near the Buttes. Sorry to miss the group run this time

A note from a client (lady - 90's), a farmer near Kersey. She said friends used to graze cattle on the grasslands and they used to head out on horses to help gather them in. She said it was a long, saddle-sore day - and that riding in a jeep is certainly the easier way to see the sights.

I didn't take any pictures on the run, was too busy looking for any little bumps, snow or mud. Did take just a few of the campsite, nothing particularly scenic but when I showed up I was parked on an uneven patch of ground to test leveling out my rig using the airbags, it worked perfectly.

Check out Trent's new trailer for a bit, it's pretty mucn the most well built trailer I have ever laid eyes on and perfectly equipped for camping.

Then I went to take a picture of my truck's suspension/leveling before it got dark and accidentally took a pretty cool picture of the sky during sunset. Once again, better lucky than good.

And once night fell we enjoyed the conversation, stars, and for the first time since I have been in Colorado, I had a chance to split some logs from my back yard and start a fire.

All in all a great 24 hours.
