This is the muddiest trail I've done in Colorado - several mud pits. It's roughly in between Silverthorne and Hot Sulphur Springs.

Last time I was there in my old Xterra on 31" ATs with aggressive tread, and was getting stuck constantly. There was a guy in a slightly lifted TJ who did just fine, and guys in bigger rigs who had lockers did fine. It seems like the key to this trail is to have a light rig or lockers, so I'm thinking my Jimny would do pretty well.

Anyone up to go this Saturday? I'm off weekends and imagine I'd need Sunday to clean the mud off :lmao:

I did it a few years ago in my Ram 1500 full size truck, solo. It was pretty easy that year but I’ve heard it’s harder/muddier now.

I'm not attracted to mud but the area has been a curiosity for some time...

I don't know if this weekend could work for me (it could but I really _should_ get the ultralight out for a flight)

So far the only definite yes I've gotten is from a random Facebook user I found through a 4x4 group, we're planning to meet at the Silverthorne Welcome Center at 10am on Saturday 8/14. Any of y'all are welcome and encouraged to come along of course!

Thanks for the invite. Saturday has a visitor coming from Oklahoma to look at buying my ultralight trike.

I'll be looking for pictures and info from ya!
