Adopt-a-Trail Clean-up run!
Devils Canyon and Barbour Fork

Devils Canyon is rated easy and stock friendly: https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/281-devils-canyon
Barbour Fork is moderate: https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/212-barbour-fork

As usual, we'd love to split into 2 groups, sending one to Devils Canyon and one to Barbour Fork. Please respect the USFS requests to use gloves and closed toe shoes; long pants and sleeves are recommended. Be prepared for any and all weather, as well as your own food, water and personal supplies. Bringing a portable trash receptacle like a 5 gal bucket can be very helpful. We should have garbage bags for everyone.

Just bumping this to the top...currently turn-out looks solid, but we'd love to have a few more. In addition to enjoying a great social run and clean-up, the fall colors may also be really nice and worth coming out for (typically, DC has the better colors than BF, but some sections of BF are right through the aspens). I was just in Frisco/Silverthorne area, and the fall leaf colors were really starting to kick in. It seemed like the east side of the divide wasn't quite there yet, but it could be great in a few more days with the recent cool snap. Along those lines, a lot of Sat morning traffic was headed up I-70 this past weekend with back-ups in the usual spots....please allow a little extra time getting to the meeting spot in Idaho Springs. I will bring a few donuts or similar for the group, and maybe a little coffee as well, if that helps encourage people to be a bit early rather than late. THANKS!

Due to work schedule I haven't been able to show up to any of the meets. Can I just show up for this clean up run without having previously gone to any of the other meets? Kinda new to the group so I'm a bit lost of how things work here haha. Thanks

Absolutely! The cleanup run is one of the best runs to meet everyone, too. Most trail runs are relatively small groups, but the cleanup runs and anniversary runs are often much better attended.

Yes, we'd love to have you join. Please click on the link in the first post to sign up and get details. Ask here if you have any questions. The wheeling in these trails is pretty easy, but it's more about our volunteer work and clean up with the USFS than a 'normal' trail run that would probably focus on wheeling a lot more.

One last reminder - hope to see you all there. Thanks for what looks to be a great turnout!
1) Leave extra time for the drive to Idaho Springs - there will be lots of weekend traffic headed up I-70.
2) Jen and I will be stopping at the Safeway for some bagels and donuts and will arrive a bit early...feel free to get there early and have a bite (bring you own coffee).
