I’ve gone wheeling twice since getting back to Palm Springs. We are located in the Mojave desert & there are tons and tons of trails. The Mojave National Preserve has the world renowned Mojave Trail and a ton of other destinations. Mines are scattered everywhere in the desert, remnants of the Gold rush of the mid-1800’s. Roads used to get to and from the mines make great wheeling trails!
If any of you get the chance to go wheeling in the Mojave desert, do it! Here’s a few pics of my adventures last week and today!

Nearest gas station? How remote is the area?

In the Mojave preserve it’s quite remote and gas is only in a few spots. Where I was today felt very remote but it really wasn’t that far from gas

Keep an eye out for the Mojave Green rattlesnake. We encountered a few when I was out in that desert for work at a prior job. Get bit by one of those out there and it's game over.

I still have never seen a rattler in the wild ever. I’d love to see one from the safety of my Jeep! I know they’re around and I am very careful and aware when out and about. I have seen a tarantula, which was way cool!
