Miller Rock this weekend? Sat 10am perhaps??

Anyone wish to see if Miller Rock is open? See how much snow is on the trail?

Temps are looking FANTASTIC!

It could be a bust with snow near the start of the trail and if so we could see if Ironclads is still snowed closed.

I'd like to run it if there is no snow on the tippy sections.

In Taos right now. Driving back tomorrow(Fri). Probably will need to recuperate otherwise I would be a yes.

I'd like to run it if there is no snow on the tippy sections.

In my experience, once the lower section by the houses to the first switchback is clear, the primary snow stopper is up near the top on the way in. It is a tippy section such that it is a deciding point (turn back or keep going). There is ample parking / turn around at that point for a handful of vehicles. Once past that point, I do not recall there being other snow stopping points.

Here's a map pin to the area I have as questionable:
Google Map 40.155218, -105.448199 (https://www.google.com/maps/place/40%C2%B009'18.8%22N+105%C2%B026'53.5%22W/@40.155218,-105.4487636,186m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x0:0x93b7592f006fdc1! 7e2!8m2!3d40.1552184!4d-105.4481992)

If that spot is a turn-around - it would not take long to get to that spot - we could turn around and try something else (Bunce / Ironclads / Rock Creek nearby or maybe something to the south - or call it a day).

I'm not hard set to do this as there are things around the house I _should_ be doing, but hey, I can get out and the weather looks great - so why not is my perspective.

If my transmission/T-case were attached to the Jeep, I'd be a yes :lmao:

Should I stick it on the calendar or call it a pass for this?

What's on your mind Trent? Tom, are you in the easy chair for the weekend? ;)

Temps look nice on the front range - but not as warm says Allenspark (high 48F). As before, I could take it or leave it but if any wish to go, I'll go.

EDIT: Hwy 7 out of Lyons looks to be open - COtrip.org shows it open and Google Maps shows no closure (I think they did a week or two ago).

Jim, a few of us were going to do Slaughterhouse tomorrow but just found out it's closed until May. We're up for Miller tomorrow at 10AM. Hope to see you there.

Thanks Marcus. As of now, put me down as a no. I've shifted to scheduling clients for tomorrow.

We'll be looking for a snow report for any of the trails you hit !!

Miller Rock was a no go. Barely made it up to the start of the trail before the snow got too deep. Doesn't look like anyone has been up there. Went to Bunce instead and tried Ironclads. The loop at the top of Ironclads is still impassable due to snow drifts. Bunce is slushy and wet and mostly passable until about waypoint 11 on Trails Offroad (~3.5 miles in and ~0,5 miles from the gate).

Thanks for the update!

I guess it's good there's snowpack still to melt.
