I noticed oil on my passenger front knuckle. The brake lines are dry. Is the oil coming from the axle?

Axle seal? I don't know the jk that well, and if there is both an inner seal at the differential and an outer seal at the end of the axle tube just inside the knuckle. Usually there would be a dust shield just inside the axle tube at the knuckle...maybe gently remove that and look behind it into the axle tube.

I think James is right, IDK what else there is there to leak oil except the outer axle seal. While you're at it a few of us run these, easy install if you're already in there https://www.quadratec.com/products/52420_900X_PG.htm

Thanks Paul. It looks like the inner axle seal at the diff must be the problem. Are the outer axle seals helpful because it is too hard to keep the inner seals sealed?

They keep junk out of your axle tube. As far as I know there is no inherent issue with the inner seals, just one of those things that goes every now and then.

Aftermarket outer seals can keep you from noticing an inner seal failure.

True, and they require greasing every now and then. No free rides...
