Everything has cascaded. I have a beater 1993 Toyota Pickup...bought it last year. The pinion seal dried out and cracked. I checked pinion preload before pulling only to recognize the whole damn thing was loose. I couldn't pull the outer bearing out to put in a new crush sleeve, so had to pull the 3rd member and carrier. The carrier bearings have spun on the carrier...they just fell right off. It needs an entire rebuild and likely a new carrier. It's likely cheaper to find an entire axle...let me know if you have anything that might work sitting around.
