I haven’t done Moon gulch from the start and it’s time! Moon gulch leads up to apex and then a bunch of other trail options open up. Miners gulch is a fun challenging trail nearby that would be fun to continue on with. Miner goes to Yankee Hill, options open up to head back north and could exit to Rollinsville road or come back out onto Gamble gulch or via Yankee hill. I’d be up for a day of exploring these trails Friday, Saturday or Sunday if anyone else is interested!

Meet up at the start of Moon Gulch, which is just south of the small town Rollinsville on Peak to Peak Highway (15 minutes south of Nederland)

Numbered trail below is Moon Gulch and you can see all the other trails in the area. The short red trail south of Moon is Miners gulch.

I have wanted to visit some of those "just south of Rollinsville" trails. I'm not overly interested in heading down to Yankee though. Watching...

Miners Gulch climbs up from close to Apex and meets with Yankee but you can turn right around and head north on a beautiful narrow spur that meets up at the start of Kingston Peak trail/top of Mammoth Gulch area. If you haven't done Miners Gulch, you should DEFINITELY do it, its the most difficult and fun of all the trails in the area but it's pretty short and steep. I've only gone uphill and it's a blast because you drive thru the creek for most of the trail. I've never descended it but that's how Trailsoffroad describes it (going north). Speedkills and I did it last summer when I had my green diesel Jeep and he was on his portals with 35's and we both took a few tries to get thru the rocky boulder climb in the creek that is very soon after starting the trail from the bottom/north.

I would not be interested in running Yankee hill because it's a ZOO on the weekends and I'd like to finish the day and air up on Rollinsville road.

`did Miner's a year ago (Pickle / Miner's / Yankee). I could do it again - or not - whatever

most of those trails piddle around and end up at the mine on Pickle Gulch. there's lots to explore up there, and I'm pretty sure when I've gone north from the mine on PG, I've never taken the same route out to Gamble Gulch road twice.

I'd be interested in a Saturday run!

So Jay (and others), care to look into this - trails north of Pickle Gulch and south of Tolland/Rollinsville (as the main target) with other trails if time and desire is there?
