Lets try this again since I apparently cannot read a calendar correctly!

500+ Views and only a few replies on the other thread so I figured I would get some more input on this before putting anything together. Java already has a trail run feeler out there for this Sunday in Central City and were only a few days away, so I'm leaving this weekend out of the polls.

If you guys have any recommendations besides Mini Moab, I'm all ears, as the only other trail system I know well is Central City/Yankee Hill where most of the side trails will likely be snowed in for a while longer. I think location can be decided once a date is determined as trail conditions may be different near the end of the month in some locations.

Cheers!

I'm not sure of my schedule yet so I haven't voted, but the seasonal gates in Fourmile open on April 15th and that area has everything from simple dirt roads to Carnage Canyon. There's a ton of dispersed camping and two glamping douchebag options too:

formerly the KOA https://www.bvoverlook.com/

off Aspen Ridge south of 285 https://rockymtcabins.com/

Sundays much better for me this year, I got 3 kids who all have games on Saturdays, one of them has 2 sports so my Saturdays are all booked up for a while

The poll is closed, so I can't vote properly, but I would prefer the later part of the month due to the unpredictable/unusual weather we've had.

I already voted (for today actually) so I can’t change it, but I could also do the last weekend in April. You can add one more vote to each of those days.

I'm about to put a planned trail run post together for the last weekend of the month. Does anyone have any input on a location?

Or should we keep it the same with Mini Moab/Rainbow Falls trail network?

Sounds good!

Down south (less snowpack) might be wise.

What date are you looking at for the run?

I see that, the Woodland Park area around Rainbow Falls isn't supposed to get a significant amount of snow throughout the week but it's looking like it's going to be wet/muddy with the approaching weather. Does everyone want to shoot for next weekend (04.29.23/04.30.23) or postpone until May? I'm fine with either.

seems like the longest winter ever but this is also the first year my kids have tried "Spring" soccer so maybe my perspective has changed :)
