View Full Version : 2024 1st Adopt-a-Trail Cleanup Run Poll

Hello everyone. It's about time to start thinking about our 1st Adopt-a-Trail cleanup run for 2024. We typically aim for one of the weekends after independence day so we can be sure to get any junk left behind during the holiday week/weekend as well as trash that has accumulated over the spring.
For any new members or anyone who has not participated in a cleanup run before: we have two trail runs each year where we volunteer for the USFS and pick up trail trash. Our adopted trails are Barbour Fork and Devil's Canyon, both close to Idaho Springs. We split into two groups and run/clean both trails simultaneously. It's a great opportunity to give back a little, to be good stewards of the off-road community, and to meet/chat with other forum members as we spend a bit more time outside of our vehicles compared to a typical run.
Please fill out the poll and let us know what weekends you may be available. This poll is just a gauge of interest so we can coordinate a weekend with the USFS to maximize participation. Please check any and all dates where you believe you will be free to join us. I will provide the Forest Service with our top 3 results and once we settle on a date I will add a planned trail run to the calendar.
Thank you.

You can only vote once.
I was able to checkbox each of the Saturday choices and then click "vote".
A bit of water under the bridge now. Did you click one item and then click vote with the anticipation of clicking another choice and hitting vote for that?

Hate to miss another clean up. Jeep back in the shop. This time $2500. Spent $7000 so far the past two months. Rethinking the thought of keeping it. Sorry to miss the clean up.

Ugh - you're going through the ringer with that jeep - sorry to hear it.
An option would be to drive your car to the trailhead or meet spot at the FS parking lot and jump in with someone. I've done this a time or two.

Great response rate. Thanks everyone.
Between the results here and some emails with the USFS folks it's looking like the 27th would be our best date. Unfortunately I'll be out of town that weekend. It wouldn't be the first time our AoT coordinator missed a run but it does mean I'll be needing two volunteers instead of one to help lead groups.
I'll be confirming that date with the rangers and scheduling it here later today. If anyone is interested in helping lead one of the two trail groups please let me know here or via dm.
Thanks.

Actually, I'm gonna wait to confirm the meeting time with Patrick before I schedule the run, which should hopefully be by Tomorrow or Tuesday.

As soon as the warranty expired on my 2021 Wrangler, I realized I needed an extra $3k a month to keep it on the road. Between the lies of Stellantis and the horrendous dealership experience at every Jeep dealer in the Denver area, I sold mine and now have a 2024 4Runner. I may never own another Jeep productd after this last experience.
