1987 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 - 2.9L V6, 5 speed manual. Looking for $3500 for this cute little truck.

Here's the story on this hot little unit - back in 2020 a friend of mine bought this intending to have it as a project. He drove it home from Kansas, then never touched it again. After a while his HOA was getting on him about it so he asked if he could store it in my backyard for a bit. A year or so goes by and it's still in my yard - I convinced him to just sell it to me so I could get it up to snuff and pass it on to the next guy (somehow I suspect this was his plan all along). I did all of the basic maintenance that it needed:
- new discs, pads, and rubber lines
- new drums, shoes, cylinders, hardware, rubber lines
- 4 new shocks
- coil spring isolators
- front wheel bearings and seals
- locking hub seals
- all new steering links and ends
- spark plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor
- all fluid changes
- all lights
- new catalytic converter

I even cut and buffed the paint and polished the wheels - the parts that aren't rusty look pretty good!

Since then I've just been driving it sporadically - I've typically just been using it as my scrap truck and filling the bed every few months with junk bound for the landfill or the recycler. TyTheJeepGuy borrowed it for a while when his J10 was down for an engine rebuild.
It's a fun little ripper but it's time to fulfill my self-promise of playing catch-and-release with this little beauty. It would make a great grocery getter, a light duty farm truck, or the start of a fun little wheeling rig. I may have drove it up the trail some call "Cliffhanger 2.0" backwards just for fun once...

Specs:

74k miles on the odometer
2.9L Cologne V6 - 140hp / 170lb-ft torque
5 speed manual transmission, part time transfer case (2H, 4H, 4L)
Warn manual locking hubs
Bench seat (comfy)
15" steel wheels
Steel bumper with 2" hitch ball

Things wrong with it:
- A/C (not working)
- Cassette deck (not working)
- rear main seal leak. It's just starting to leave a few drips when parked, it'll be a while before it really needs to be dealt with.
- all terrains are good but old, they should be replaced in the next year or so

It can haul your 2 post lift:

It can do guerilla trail repair (allegedly)

You can fill the bed with crushed asphalt to resurface your driveway:

The interior is actually kind of nice:

Has the odometer rolled over? Anyone's guess

Anyways, if this is something you're interested in let me know. Figured I'd post it up here first and try to avoid the "Is this still available?" marketplace hell...

I just realized this truck has a limited slip... I've had it for years, it does great donuts, fantastic traction in snow, I've serviced the rear end... How did I miss this???
