OK, so I cant really call the allroad a 4x4, but it is the car where most of my time and $ goes, and I am excited and wanted to share. So here is the chat about my "other 4wd" monster.
took the allroad down to a Dyno at CarZ performance in lakewood today. here were the results:
http://1strule.org/62/dyno.jpg
It ended up putting down 417 lb ft and 385 hp at the wheels.
if I use a stanard conversion of multiply by 1.28 to find crank power with quattro, that would put the car at 533 ft lbs and 492 hp at the crank. WOW. this car is a monster.
for comparison today 2 stage III B5 S4's ran immediately after mine on the same dyno. they were each getting ~375 lb ft and 350 hp. there were a couple potential differences to account for the difference in power. first is my cold air intake - they were both running stock airboxes, second was the difference between the BEL and APB motors if any, and finally was quality of the gas. My runs were on 91 octane shell pump gas. Both S4s had used at least a partial tank of unknown quality 91 octane.
anyway, I am happy with the results certainly not bad for a little 2.7L motor. it was a good day!
