I added this after the realization that there was no easy way to find what members drive, what mods they have, etc that was easy to find. This should solve that and also showcase the great variety of rigs we have here on Front Range 4x4.

I also included a poll to show a snapshot profile. Since many members have multiple rigs you can select more than one box though you can't specify if you have multiples of one make (do that in the thread)

I have 2 Toyotas -

1988 FJ62 - FJ60 front clip, H55F, 5 Speed, Old Man Emu heavy duty suspension, Extended anti-inversion shackles, 4:11's with Lock Rite in the rear, Solid Rock Off-Road sliders and rear bumper, Warn Winch, Dual batteries, BFG A/T 33x12.5x15's, etc.

1969 FJ55 - If I can hold onto this it destined to be a perennial project. 350 SBC, Atlas overdrive, Toyota 4 speed, 4:88's, ARB front, rear open, Redline Motorsports full roll cage, BFG A/T 33x12.5x15's, shackle reversal, axle cut & turn, Toyota PU front seats, no other interior, very cool piggie.

Other Modifications- Skid plates front to back (steering, catalytic converters, transmission/transfercase, frame sliders, fuel tank, pinion guards - most are Rock Ware), crappy sliders/nerf bars, ARB front bumper, unknown-make custom rear bumper and rear quarter protection, Mantec snorkel, in-cab throttle control mounted on center console, Tom Woods double cardan driveshafts f-n-r, Rock Ware offset tie rod and drag link.

Other Modifications- Custom locking center console, CB, Yakima megawarrior roof rack with 20" extension. 4 Hella 500's on the roof, 2 170 lightforce on the bumper. 2 reverse lights on the rack. custom interrior lights. custom rear platform to accommodate sleeping and storage. custom rear panels to replace the old plastic ones. Sound deadening mat used from firewall to tailgate. upgraded tie-rod bar, and FJ-80 TREs.

Console is from a 1990 with a V6 and 5spd. I used the middle small piece from my stock setup.

The door panels are standard on turbo and V6 models with power windows and locks only from 87-89.

Sweet. Those will be on my "shopping" list! I am slowly replacing worn out interior parts anyways, so looking for the good stuff.

Blk 08 4dr rubi, all stock for now gonna do alot but taking it slow and feelingmy way thru. Things of note push button lockers, electronic sway bar disconnects, 31' tires. I ve ran some trails behind an 08 jk 4dr on 33" maybe 35", plus 2 inch lift, a ford 77 bronco on 33" plus 4" lift and one sweet engine, 06 rubi 2dr 2-4" lift. only found one spot i could nt follow exact path if wanted to. I would like to point out also that it was scary for both of em got some real good 3 and two wheel motion going.

1 Bumper and winch 9000 lbs warn not sure but prob elec
2 Aev ninth degree lift 4"(weekend rig)
3 Chipped and cold air intake
4 35" bead locked tires

Jeep bumpers are easy to do for anyone that fabs stuff, so keep that in mind. There are a couple of us on the site who do fab work, including myself.

Watch craigslist denver for deals on winches. There have been a lot of Warn 8-9k winches out there selling for around $400 or less. Remember on the winches that most of them have had a very easy life riding around on someone's bumper looking cool and haven't been worked very much at all. A good sign is how the cable lays on the spool. If it is nice and neat, it ain't been used much. If it looks like mine (either one), Bren's or Jimmy's (probably more, too), it has seen a bunch of use..not always a bad thing, just something to look for. Patrolman usually posts any deals that he finds so that they end up on the site.

no, only the twin batteries, i finally installed the wiring for the remote in cab winch control, just need to insatll the switch and it should all work now, i also had to replace the 4 solenoids as they wre burnt out from my attemp to hot wire the winch with some fence wire,as i couldnt find the remote for it. it would be great to cath up and see some of the local sights you have for 4x4 over there. i went dirt bike riding on the weekend in the local forest, thanks talk soon:smokin:

You need a Scout II roll bar! Give that top a bit of a lift and also provide some true roll protection... :)

this roll bar came with it and it doesnt fit and barely bolts up to the body. only can get a couple in home made holes. im gonna change it to a real roll bar that fits. im now waiting on the Best Top soft top to come in at IHnorth, cant wait till its in. it cost 2 times what i paid for the scout.

Post a couple of pictures of what is happening with the roll bar as far as fitting goes. Maybe there are some ways to get it to work pretty easily that you haven't thought of. Seems if you have the roll bar in as far as the picture shows, you are pretty close to getting it buttoned up.

Sooner or later I will have a Scout II roll bar to sell. My Scout came with one and I already had one from a Scout I used to have. I have a 1/2 cab top that I want to fit on the Scout. If either of the bars will fit the the 1/2 cab top, that is the one I will keep. The other will then be sold off. Both fit nicely into a Scout II and are genuine rollbars. 1 is a factory piece, the other is an aftermarket piece.

I have just the one, its my 02 ranger, 4.0 5spd HD mazda tranny, 4:10s LS, the up grades include cold air intake, 3" BL, sliders, custom bumpers, 1/4" T6061 skid plates, 9k winch 4 100 watt lights and 2 55 watts all facing forward w/ 2 55s facing the rear, custom rack, hopefully soon I'll be converting it over to my FS D44 and 9" with lockers, 35s and headers. For now I running my ProComp Extremes in 32" form.

Guess I'd better get my stuff up....I've built up several rigs before and this is what I roll around in now, mainly because it fits the whole family and camping gear.

84' FJ60 LandCruiser, I picked it up stock with a little over 200k on the odometer, since then I've added a 3" Old Man Emu lift, 4:11 gears, Aussie Locker in the rear, 33's, home-built front/rear bumpers and roof rack, sliders coming soon, recent carb rebuild, new clutch, oil pan, PS pump, comfy front seats, etc.... I've only ran Chinawall once, but it seems to be good mild trail that offers a little something for everyone. Plus you can typically run it in the winter time which is great.

Brad-you do have about the cleanest 60 I've ever seen. If mine looked like that, I would never wheel it...at all. That is a lot of work and it certainly shows..Before I did my exo when I just had the Baja fiberglass fenders, hood and bedsides on it, I briefly contemplated painting it a sweet Toyota charcoal gray metallic....then I remembered the amount of time I spent on my last 3 rigs buffing the scratches out before they became flat black primer. So I went one step up and did the cheapo Rhino lining on everything knowing that I was going to wheel the crap outta it....

my dad has an '01 cummins. we put the edge chip in it, and wow that truck screams! i would definitely recommend it. a couple years ago my dad pulled a 28ft boat cross country. got some funny looks but it pulled the boat just fine.

cant believe how embarassly slow my truck went up the hill side. i coudnt even catch up to a u-haul. i really need to figure out what the problem is because of right now i cant even tow our camper or atv' s . and were planninf on going camping in a couple of weeks. . ill try a tune up but still acts like its drop a cylnder.

your timing could be off too causing problems or the distributor is going as well..

i would suggest a all new plugs/wires/injector cleaning or replacement and if that still doesnt get it a all new distributor module replacement.

Or the advance is sticking inside the distributor if it is mechanical...or it could be a nasty little vacuum leak, too....Maybe do the carb spray around the base of all your vacuum lines and carb/throttle body plates to see if the RPMs pick up. I've had vacuum leaks that caused the same thing, especially the vacuum line going into the distributor....

It's just a party. We like anything with wheels that either goes fast, goes slow, and does anything in between, on or off road...And you will find that everyone here has a special place reserved just for ex or current military rigs, British, US, Swedish, Dutch, or Russian...and if someone has something that has more than 4 driving wheels..well, that is even better..

I think that the reason for liking so many different rigs is that most of us have owned and modified a lot of rigs. I know I have...

To tell you the truth I don't remember if my rear wheel slipped. :o The wheelbase is 111.9 and as you can see I've got 33" tires. One mod I did do a couple weeks before Moab was crank the front torsion bars up to almost 2" and install some Trail Duty extended Bumpstops. Reason is because all H3's have that stock looking raked stance where the front is lower than the rear.

Thinking I'm gonna SAS, larger coils in rear (basically undo the budget), add misc armor, and add a (probably custom) 4x4 rear bumper. Other misc stuff as I go aswell.

If you SAS the front, you will want to go as small as possible since any thing over 2" in the rear will cause you to start modding to the point a rear leaves swap is more economical and durable than the costly relacement parts. Search for Fort Knox, he modified the rear with johnny joints, larger springs, and some other gear, but by the time you do that, you could spend the same amount of money on rear leaves.

The Shop I'm apprenticing for is giving me the springs off of one of his old vehicles for my rear end, and will help me fab/order anything I need to make it work. As for the front, I'll have to provide parts, but again he’ll assist me in installing the solid front axle. He stated he’d let me do the work, but watch over my shoulder and make sure I’m not totally screwing everything up. That way, being my first vehicle being worked on in his shop, if I screw anything up… it’ll be my own lol.
