I know many people are concerned with identity theft and want to let you know an easy solution that cost nothing. Colorado State Law requires the credit agencies to do this for free which is a plus.
Simply put a credit freeze on your accounts. Nobody can access them and you can give temporary access if you want someone to if you're applying for credit somewhere. A bonus is all sorts of junk mail disappears too.
I did this a couple years ago and love it. The only inconvenience is that when you get a discount offer from a retailer if you open a card at the register it won't go through. To me that's not an issue, I don't want any new credit.
