Today was a great day up in Georgetown. At one point it nearly touched 40 degrees!!! Tech was quick and I was on the ice in no time. There were 3 tracks set up and the wait time was minimal. Big oval, dog bone and the sock. (really liked the sock) I couldn't tell you how many laps I ran, but I went through 1/4 tank of gas on the ice alone... There were a lot of Subies out there. They mostly handed me my butt on a platter. Still fun...:) Tinkered around with different tire pressures, then met up with PovertyByJeep. (Mike) Going around the track in a studs class Jeep is a blast! After hitching a ride I went back to running in the JK. Unfortunately, I ended up letting too much air out of the tires - not enough control to make good runs. Before I headed out for the day Mike let me take his Jeep out for some laps. Total rush!!! It's something I've been wanting to do for about 5 years now. When things pick back up and I do a little more convincing maybe mama will let papa get another Jeep to go out and play on the ice - I better not push my luck...lol It was nice meeting you and your wife today Mike - thanks a million for letting me get a taste of the studs class!!!

I took a few more pics yesterday at the races. One of the competition Jeeps went over - something I've never witnessed before. I also have some pics of the AWD cars tearing around the ice.

subies are hard to beat. whenever i drive our '00 outback in bad weather, it's just disappointing. their traction control is really amazing. it's hard to make it slide. just to make it fishtail is a challenge.

Thanks! I want to do more B&W now since I have a new digi cam. The old one was a slow POS. I really enjoyed shooting B&W 35 mm when I was in college, but I don't see myself going back to that format. So much easier with today's camera technology...

kind of off-topic- I get to buy a new lens. My 'daily driver' one bit the dust. I could take some hints from you on the technical details of the operation of the camera, I think. What did you end up getting.
