Brody's thread about the Hayman fire area brought back memories of wheeling Hackett Gulch when my truck was in it's infancy. Man, do I miss that trail! Here's a short vid................

You make it look easy; does anything actually stop you? :)

Thanks everyone. Oh Stephanie, there's been plenty of things that have stopped me :D

It really is a fun trail especially when combined with Longwater Gulch. It makes for a fun day trip.

Yeah, Stephanie...Larry breaks front axle shafts faster than I go through gear sets, so it's more a question of getting stopped. He has one seriously nice set up! The other thing here is common sense and deep wallets. Larry 's rig and my rig would both run harder trails than we do, but the beakage and damage dig too deeply into already depressingly flat wallets...
We used to run Longwater Gulch to get to Longwater Dome for the rock climbing there and on other scattered rocks in the area. Metberry Gulch we ran to get to the bottom (and/or backside)of Big Rock Candy Mountain, the huge (for the Platte, anyway) 1300' rock next to the Metberry trail. I used to really like those trails as you could go out for a climb and not see anyone for a couple of days...
