Today's detailing:
I decided to detail the allroad. It REALLY needed it. too many ski trips had let mud, mag chloride and other debris build up. I forgot to take a before picture, so just know the car was really dirty. Not quite this bad, but pretty close:

even after washing there were still defects to be taken care of. There was a mysterious white splatter:

as well as swirl marks and scratches

So, I started off with some heavy clay work

Then dove into the swirl remover

that left the car covered in residue

which got wiped off with a microfiber cloth

then finally it was time for some wax

after applying it to the whole car, it had to sit for at least 30 minutes

So I used that time to go fly a kite with my kid (it was nap time for her little sis)

finally it was time to go back to work on the car – back to the microfiber cloth

yeah for.. vehicles that no matter how hard you try, they still have a crappy paint job! :thunb: The only way to make my vehicle shine like that is to paint it, haha. Nice work.

LOL - yeah, I am trying to keep the paint looking good. You'd never know the car is over 100K miles on it now. It will need a repaint at some point to cover some deep door dings, and other chips in the paint. Hopefully I can put that off for several more years though.

Brody - I have seen your truck, I think it would shred my polishing pads in about 30 seconds.
Aaron - bring one of them by. I'll lend a hand and we'll see what we can do to make it shine.

Well...see how you are!
Don't do Dave Nay's Cruiser, either, cause that will shred 'em in 5 seconds...

Maybe for both trucks, I should start with sand paper on the porter cable instead.
