Kenosha Pass Area Weather Sources

Here are a couple of links for weather around the Kenosha Pass area. Sounds like we ought to plan for some wintry conditions. Maybe bring a couple of tarps to put over the grills/tables, etc, toss in a snow shovel or two and bring your basic winter garbage in the line of clothes and gear. Should be fun at any rate....

Don't know what to think now...one of them says a high of 5 degrees and cloudy, the other says a high in the mid 40s with partial sun and cloudy. I am inclined to go with the latter one, myself. A couple of them mention not much snow either falling or on the ground...chance of precipitation were the actual words used...then the next couple mention a large amount of snow...

Anyway, it must be nice to have a $250k job as a weatherman and not be able to read the radar/information accurately. 'Informed guessing' doesn't even apply here.....Somehow some of our money pays for these clowns salaries??!!

Same goes with the weather people...idiot talking heads..all of them...Wasn't Chicken Little the dude who did the 'sky is falling' routine? Sounds a little familiar....

We should see what Saturday will look like in the next 24 hours. The 'storm' was to hit the metro area about midnight last night from what I heard. Looking out my window confirms that it's a 'big one!' :lol:

Oh yes indeed! Knee deep at my place, too...no way to get out of the driveway, even, locked up or not...

Like I said...a bunch of clowns..You would think that since all of the weather people use essentially the same government sources of weather information, satellites, Dopler, etc., that someone, somewhere, would hold some sort of classes as a prerequisite for being a weatherman instead of the job qualifications like: 'must be able to read, have plastic good looks, willingness to go under the knife in order to appeal to the majority of viewers, IQ of at least ambient room temperature, etc'

Just found that it appears all the local school districts have shut down. Denver is on break but over here both Cherry Creek and Aurora are closed. Poor kids, no school and no snow to play in on the day off.

Oh, update - now the 'storm' is going to hit after 12 noon when the 'blizzard' if going to hit. As a former Minnesotan this is pretty amusing. Apparently a day with snowfall in Minnesota is a blizzard in Colorado.

First state I ever lived in where 3" of snowfall shuts the roads down and it was declared a 'major winter storm'. Come to think of it, this is the first state I ever lived in where you never see snow plows until after the snow has stopped falling either... and then you will see three or four of them all together with their plows in the air on wet roads.... Never understood that...let the freeze/thaw action damage the roads so that we can deal with road repairs and potholes 2/3s of the year, wait until all the accidents happen, then maybe, just maybe, fire up all the snowplows that are sitting in the garages....

Granted, the mountain towns are a little better, but any of the front range cities are a joke when it comes to this.

We have some wet icy roads up here between Broomfield & Longmont. Did my good deeds for the day and pulled a Volvo and a Honda out of the ditch. Sitting in my warm office now.

We're looking at about 4" or so, and more to come in Gunnison. Looks to be headed nowhere fast, but I suspect we'll follow it all the way to the trailhead, haha.
