i think if the "planner" of the run has to bail the next in line can take over and continue with the run.

Right, if he planner bails he/she just changes the RSVP so everyone knows who to expect.

I know cause of the situation with my truck I wont be able to do a couple of the runs I posted so hoping that someone can take over for me.
