Do you have a scrap heap for my bumper once we replace it? It could be sold, but the previous owner put on a bumper sticker... which trapped water and rusted through the crome. Also looked like he ran it in to a cement post one time. Got a nice round dent on the passenger side.

RE Altitude Steel

Talk to Doug if you can, bring cash, mention Front Range or my name and he'll cut you a deal. Decent selection of round stock in the scrap bin recently, too. He sells his scrap steel at .75 a pound...

Weird to find, though, cause it has a Colfax address, but is actually under Colfax more than anything else. Get on 8th off of I25 , heading west, go north on the frontage road past General Air Service, to the first light. Turn right to next light. Turn left, go to the end of the street and they are on the right.

I might go for the old bumper if I can figure out how to use it on the 84...drop it off and if I can't use it, I'll get rid of it for you...

Screweder
April 26th, 2009, 07:30 AM
I'll let ya snag the bumper :D But that means you'll owe me lol. Expect to be getting a call at 2am disrupting your "precious sleep" hehe.

Do you know when Altitude Steel is open?

Brody
April 26th, 2009, 08:01 AM
Ok...how 'bout I give you a hand with the front bump stop adjustment stuff? That way I can at least see if the bumper is gonna work for me...If it doesn't, no big deal...

Altitude is open from about 7:30 to 4:30 or 5:00 during the week. My directions are the easiest way to get there. I finally can go in the back way from Federal, but it isn't easy. You can also get there from downtown, but that is worse...If Doug isn't there, expect to pay a little more, so try to talk to him. He expects people from Front Range that know me to mention my name and Front Range...

I dont plan on ever sleepin there, but of course what man doesnt spend at least one night in the kennel right? I had an 07 Jeep Patriot that had a 12v outlet built into it. I was doin an over night at work while we had some crew come in and wax our floors. A friend loaned me his Xbox360 and I barrowed the stores TV for the night. I sat on the clock and was enjoyin a nice game of Halo3 and walked to Kings and bought a roasted turkey for dinner. That was one of the best nights Ive had in a long time. No girlfriend to nag me while I playin games or anything just me and the game. Good times!

Brody

She always gets stopped in the airports for some reason when she walks through. lol.

One of the reasons for a titanium cane. If you see an old guy at an airport walking with a limp using a cane, he obviously needs the cane for an assist. And it will end up going wherever he goes...on the plane or not.

Since aluminum registers as metal and so does titanium, I decided to have a titanium one made for when we travel, especially overseas. You can get quite a bit of 'working room' with a cane if some ass want to relieve you of valuables or intends to do damage...and titanium will break bones, not bend...

itsjustdan23
May 3rd, 2009, 12:32 PM
That is very true. Ma' got really good with her cain and trust me. Wood even hurts when you get cracked around the shins. I was fairly young, maybe 16 or so. I dont plan on gettin hit by any more wooden or titanium cains ever again in my lifetime. Good idea of keepin the varments away from ya over seas. Buttplunkers will learn one way or another to never underestimate an old man with something in his hand.

Brody
May 3rd, 2009, 12:53 PM
The older I get, the slower I think I am, so the more weapons I keep easy access to..in the truck, in the cars, in the house, in the garage, camping...you name it...I have something fairly evil really close to hand...and a cane makes one look more decrepit...Hell a wooden pencil or a tightly rolled magazine will do serious injury in a pinch...ditto with a sharpened edge on a credit card..:D:D:D
