I am currently deployed. I called my wife today and she told me someone had tried to steal or get into my cruiser sitting behind my shop. Apparently my wife was working late and my girls 15 and 10 were home when the dog started growling at the back door. We have a fenced back yard so my daughter does what she usually does when my rotty wants out and opened the door. My daughter heard two guys in the back yard yelling and screaming. My daughter shut the door and locked it and called my wife. My wife came home from work and went to the back door and Bear was sitting on the deck. She opened the door and he came in with BLOOD all over his muzzle.chest and paws. She went outside to look and said there is bloody hand prints on top of the privacy fence around the back yard and a bag with some tools apparently Bear didn't like pretty much shredded.
The drivers door was open on the cruiser and they had already popped the ignition out. Dumb A$$es the batteries are in the shop plugged in to the battery tender. My wife said the console was open but isn't sure if anything was taken and both my big ammo cans were still locked in the back.

My wife called the police and when they went outside the fence to look there were three different sets of shoe tracks by the back gate and hack saw marks on the "cut proof" lock. The police took the report and said they would check with the local hospitals for people coming in with dog bites and they wrote down dates off my dogs shot records. We have beware of dog signs on the outside of the privacy fence.

What I would have given to have seen there faces when 145lbs of pissed off Rotty came barreling off the deck at them.... I think they got a whole lot more than they were bargining for....

Nothing secures your yard better than a dog with a big bark/bite. :)

I'd give that dog a steak dinner! Dogs are the best security device. They can hear and smell people before you even know they are there. And bad guys know a gun is a problem but it's easy to miss, a dog will always run faster than you, and they don't miss. My family lives in a pretty rural area as much as they are part of the family they are also here as our security alarm.

That is great to see that the Rotty was there and nothing happened to his daughters, My Akita heard someone in the back yard and woke me up and she led me downstairs and she sat in front of the window silently until these 2 scum bags broke the window and started to come in. She just stood up on hind end and when she saw their hand come in, lunged and barked trying to bite them. They hauled butt and funny thing was the police was already looking for them for trying to break into someone else's house. At the same time she would not let me enter the family room. The officers would not even come up to the door cause they knew we had an Akita.

Nothing like a dog and/or gun to protect your family, home and property.

I work for Security Industry Specialists, and I can't say what type of building or anything. Signed all this nifty paperwork saying I can't tell that stuff, lol.

Never heard of that company and now I know why. Do you get flown in by a black helicopter? Lol I deal with noise complaints, loud parties, drunks, domestics, half naked or full naked chicks trespassing in pools/hot tubs afterhours, robberies, attempted break ins, vandalism etc. Pretty interesting most of the time. Lol

Hiring? Lol... I monitor stuff. If nothing changes throughout my shift, then I've done my job. Gratifying... not, lol.
