Pretty cool story, along that line I was at a neighborhood block party and after the drinks were flowing the old guys started trading war stories. My friend's dad didn't participate but was prodded by the other guys. Finally he did, turns out he was a pilot for the Germans during WWII and was probably in a dogfight with one of the other guys there. :eek:

Yikes.. that is kinda scary. Curious how he ended up here after that. It's amazing what you can learn at a BBQ!

He fled Germany with his family after the war and was hired by an aerospace company as an engineer.

There was a long pause and startled people when he told his story but everyone ended up laughing about it saying "Glad you weren't a good shot" type comments.
