This should prove to be a pretty fun time, especially if you have a Yota and like to wheel.

When: July 31st, August 1st, and August 2nd, 2009
Where: Buena Vista, Colorado
Who: All Toyota makes and models
Why: To get out and 4wheeling with other Toyota enthusiasts!

Last year's event was very successful and had a great showing of Toyota enthusiasts (probably 30-40 rigs). We also donated $233 (Addicted Off Road (http://www.addictedoffroad.com/) Bumper raffle) to Stay the Trail (http://staythetrail.org/), a local non-profit off-road organization commented to keeping our trails open.

Camping Location: National Forest area of Fourmile, just east of Buena Vista (http://staythetrail.org/maps/files/BLM_RoyalGorgeFO_Fourmile_2005p2.pdf).

If possible, please bring some firewood!

Thanks Pete! I have always wanted to go, but just never had a chance. Maybe this year!

Thank Scotty! I had to ask about the event and he provided me with the links and information. I had heard about it from Bren when I saw him the other day. He is going to try to go to this along with Bear.

That's gonna be a busy time up in the MTNs. The Land Rover National Rally is July 28 - Aug 1 Running many of the same trails.

I am probably not going to go myself as I don't do crowds very well. Concerts, movies, car shows, parties...hell...crowds of any kind..I just thought that I would post it up.

Ditto, thus I was giving a heads up.. I chose the 28th for Holy Cross as it seems to be the last quiet time before the big groups gather up there

Last year their was a huge Jeep rally, and I only saw them once(On the road).
We never had trouble with crowds on the trails at all.

Thanks for the input on the number of rigs on the trails! This puts things into a different perspective as there are people I want to meet (Marlin and Scotty to name a couple) and it sounded like fun except for the crowds.

I really have a 'social' problem with large groups of people as crowds tend to bring out the worst in me. With the input from you guys, it looks as though we will at least go down there for a day or so.

I don't really have a huge interest in seeing a large number of the same model rigs all built (or not) which is one of the reasons we ended up on this site, but meeting some of the movers and shakers, especially since I have many of their products on my heap might be fun. Seeing Bren and Bear in again would be good, too, especially if their rigs are actually running!

BTW, I just remembered that there is a $10/rig cost also.
Brody can you add that to the Calender event?
All proceeds go to Stay the Trail.

I think $10/rig would be a fair price to pay. I don't want anyone to feel like they can't show up because the registration fee is too high. If we get 50 rigs to show and sell 200-300 extra tickets, that's $700-$800 that we could donate to keeping our trails open.

It's listed on the bottom of the front page Danny. The top of the page is just for Front Range runs so it won't be added there. ;)

Aaron did away with the $10 fee. He decided to just ask everyone to make a donation to instead. It gets sticky with liability when you ask for a entry fee.

So, if you are going, just plan on donating a few bucks.

Chris,
I had seen it posted, I was just talking about the fee, which is now a moot point.

Thanks for the info Scotty.
See you up there.

I'll see you guys tomorrow. Hopefully, we can meet up for a trail. If not, we'll ride Saturday together. It should be a fun one.

We will be heading down there early Saturday AM as LaDawn has to work today (Friday). We hope to find a campsite early AM and be set up in time to make the meet at 9AM at Johnson's Village.

Bear, Bren and Danny are going to end up down there sometime today, but I don't know what time.

See you all there!
