We had a great run yesterday! There were only three of us and we ran Kelly Flats, Moody Hill and Crystal Mountain. Josh and James ran Heart Attack Hill and all of Crystal Mountain, Josh tried the Chutes, but without rock rails was going to damage his body panels, and both of them did the Quarry obstacle. I managed to do the Chutes, which is essentially a 10' problem, avoided Heart Attack Hill, which I have never liked the looks of, and didn't do the Quarry obstacle for the same reason.

Josh and James made short work of all of these, and Josh is loving the low gears in the Yota! Surprisingly enough, the hardest obstacle of the day was the mud pit at the end of Kelly Flats. There is now about a 4' vertical bank, with mud soup at the bottom. There is also a new bypass to the right side. Everyone tried this with Josh losing a turn signal cover and doing the bypass as the bank was headlight high. James managed to get around on the right side, but needed a winch to finish. I managed to get my front tires up and over, but the backs were against ledges, so I also needed a winch..

All in all, a great day, with excellent weather. Josh and James continued on to the top of Crystal and laDawn and I had to head back to town because it was getting late and we both had some work to finish up.

Yeah, it has a fat butt! I did manage to squeeze through two trees that everyone else drove around because it looked like an ATV path. LaDawn didn't think I was going to make it, but I did with all of 1/4" to spare on both sides! Wish we had a few pictures of that, but by the time LaDawn wanted to get pictures, we had a very large tree on both sides of the doors.

I scraped both sides of the rock rails and parts of the exo going through the first section, then scraped them again going through the last squeeze. The hardest part was the very first section where it is hard not to get tossed against the rock on the driver's side. If I had been aired down to 8 pounds or less, I could have ridden the rock on that side with my sidewalls and avoided the hole. As it was, when I slid down into the hole, I was able to hike the tires to passenger, ride the sidewall out of the hole, the turn them straight.

The obstacle is really only 10' long. The rest is just narrow and rocky...Needed to get rid of some rust on the cage anyway..

i had a blast yesterday our whole day was just filled with hardcore wheelin. i would like to say thanks to josh, pete and ladawn for showing up. it was a very nice day for wheelin kinda hot actually i got a little sun burned me and josh didnt get aired back up till about 9:00 p.m. the cb keept sayin there was gonna be a t storm but it never happened the top of crystal peak was a little windy and it drizzled a little but it was actually kinda nice after such a hot day. and i didnt break anything except for my passenger side mirror on the last strech going up to crystal peak on a tree and the only other carnage really was josh's blinker cover so we had a preety smooth run.

Had a great day and got to really push the new rig for the first time. It amazing what some wheel base and lower gears will do for makin obstacles doable. I knew it was good times when it just walked up the Quarry at the top of Moody Hill. A bit of scraping on the t-case skid in the playground at the bottom of Crystal, but just a bit. Gotta love 13 hours of wheeling and still feeling good enough to go out and do some more the next day. Bought it a week ago, and I've already done about 1200 miles and 5 trails and its holding up to everything I throw at it to include steep hills, mud, rock crawly stuff, and water crossing up to the headlights.

As always love Moody/Crystal and Kelly Flat has some fun stuff too. Here are some pics I took....
