long story short. i try to help out anybody in need espaically family. we have been supporting my parents fir the most part helping with bills and buying cars for them. the last one was i let them borrow my wagon until they can save up and get one. if its not theres or a caddy they wil mistreat it/ my wagon was the best runming vehicle i ever owned. its not pretty buy ran reall well. i got it back it back a couple of days ago after four months. it came home on a tow truck broken. the sterring is locked up and ignition key wont turn. they have overheated the car several times and now i also see oil leaks on the motor. my ? is how do change out ignition locks so my car will start i hope and see what else is screwed up on it.

man i am really sorry to hear this. I am all for helping people but they need to help themselves as well. I've seen it too many times where a really good person/family is taken advantage of due to their nice nature. if you need any help let us know!
i don't know specifically on your rig but i know on my toyota you have to pull the steering column cover off, put the key it turn it and there will also be a small release button that you have to press in with something like a very small punch. best bet would be to pull the cover off snap a few pics and if it's not apparent post the pics up and maybe something will become evident.

When you say Wagon.....which car specifically is that? Definitely sucks that they did this to you. I always thought family was supposed to take care of their own. Seems like you did your part, but they failed to theirs. Sucks that it comes down this, but a serious conversation with them might be needed before they get your help again in the future. Yes, they are your parents and brought you up, but that doesn't mean they can do this kind of thing and feel alright about it. Thats my opinion at least. Let me know the model and year of the car, and I'll see if I can find out more info for you.

Roland, man sorry to hear that especially from family, and you are the first person I have heard say a celebrity ran good not to knock the car or anything. Most vehicles I have done steering column locks on I had to pull the steering wheel off to get access to the lock pin that releases the lock assembly which on the few chevys I have done it was on the top side towards the gauge cluster usually under the shift linkage rod for the automatics. Hope this helps.

Sorry to hear about that. Like they say...you can pick your nose and you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family.
I have a sister that I have only spoken with for about an hour (all I could take) in the last 20 years. She is a real ass and there is a lot of bad history there. I probably wouldn't slow down if she crossed the road in front of me...

Sorry to hear that Roland, it does suck indeed.
You'll need to pull the steering wheel & there should be a plastic cover over the lock plate that pops right off
And get a Lock Plate Tool (http://www.lowridermagazine.com/tech/0712_lrmp_crippled_column_cure_tech_project/photo_01.html) & remove snap ring & lock plate.
Once the lock plate is removed, remove the phillips screw from the turn sig switch to the turn sig lever.
Remove the phillips screw & knob from the hazard knob
Remove all 3 phillips screws from the turn sig switch & pull the switch out enough to access the lock cyl screw. There's enough slack in the harness to do this.
Remove the Torx screw, size 25 just under the lock cyl
Pull out lock cyl
Install new lock cyl then the Torx screw & reinstall eveything in reverse as you took it apart
Hope this helps ya out :)

I have the tools for this, I live in Golden. LMK when you want to tackle it. I may have time to help, though I'm more likely to just loan you the lock plate tool and T-25.
