So a couple of weeks I had a bad tooth crack from biting into a popcorn kernal. I got a root canal and temporary crown. Friday I was supposed to get the permanent crown but when I went in it didnt fit properly. I rescheduled for Tuesday so that they could get another one made with the proper dimensions. That has cost $650 so far.

Tonight while eating another one of my teeth chipped pretty badly next to an old filling. I have no idea how much this is going to cost. I guess thats what I get for drinking a case of mountain dew a day for the last few years. I've cut down on that since February to a case a week. I'm done with it now. I dont think I'm going to drink another carbonated beverage again. Also removed my tongue piercing since I tend to hit that against my teeth on occasion. This sucks.

Don't forget chomping on ice cubes and grinding your teeth...even in your sleep. If an old filling is way big, with very little tooth surrounding it, the tooth will crack anyway. So I'm told.

I'm very fortunate to have insurance and a dentist who takes payments. I'll be paying on my work for quite some time. Small price for being able to still chew meat.

I too hate them and rank them right up there with attorneys with the exception that you eventually feel better after the dental visit where with most attorney visits you do not. It is crazy the prices they charge and if you do not have insurance it is totally unreal.

yep I'm right there with you, broke a tooth last year, let it go and had to have a root canal in December didn't get the final crown until Feb. still paying for it. And then last Wed. the same tooth on the other side decided to break in half when I bit down on a JollyRancher. So 2:00 tomorrow I'll be back in the chair, I hope they can save it

On my way to get the crown right now. My latest break may cost me $400.

It has been a few years since I had the bridge put in because one of my teeth with an old filling shattered. I guess I am due. Yes, it all sucks!

but the good news is it doesn't look like a root canal is in my future. We will find out at the end of the month

Thing that sucks is that I used most of $1000 limit on my insurance on this root canal and crown. Now I pretty much need another one. This sucks. Hopefully I dont need another root canal.

Man I hope it works out for the best on not needing another root canal, I hate those! I just need to do a complete bottom plate and do not want to even see the cost of that.
