I think I want to head out to see these trails next week. Probably head out late morning or early afternoon on Monday the 24th. Camp out for the night somewhere up there, and do some more trails on Tuesday.

Any takers?

You will like these trails. They are really fun. The best camping, if you want to get a bit away from people, is going to be partway into the Ironclads. There are a couple of areas that are a little farther away from the roads after you do the initial obstacle, which isn't hard. Everything else is really close to the road and tend to get crowded, though probably not on a weekday.

There is another area off of the switchbacks coming up from Camp Dick that is also pretty far from the road. It is right off the switchback and ends up in a big area partway up the hillside.

If we had more $$ for gas, we would go, but things are tight.

Jon...if you read this and want to go, remember my offer of a place to stay so that you don't do a long drive if you don't want to!

Rock Creek is a good spot for camping too. I love it there. It's Ski Road out of Allenspark I believe. I've been camping there before I knew it was a trail on traildamage.
