So to keep the wifes Disco fitting in the garage we can't do a roof rack. Not a problem we have a hitch mount Yakima bike rack... but what about ski season? Well this is where I need help from someone with a tube bender. I need some tube bent like:

http://yakima.com/product/8002418/hitchski.aspx

I already have ski racks I could put on the tube.. I just am having troubles paying that much for something so easy.. Any one help me?

dont, just dont. please

if you care about your skis dont put them back there. have you looked at your rear window after a road trip. all that road debris gets sucked into the vacuum behind the truck. it will splatter all over your skis and will get in your bindings drastically shortening their lifespan

fold down one of the rear seats and toss them inside, or get a top box off craigs list and park outside while it is up top.

they make the bags to put skis in so they stay clean while there back there in the vacuum.

You come up what you want to do, give either me or Sean a call.

I don't like to put skis behind the rig, either, nor in the back of a pick up, but I found that you pretty much carry that stuff however it is going to get it there...

Of course I do mostly back country boarding and snow shoeing, so the binding stuff isn't a problem..

We have covers for them.. Problem is that we can't do a roof rack and won't beat up the inside.

Do you have kids? Strap them on the back and let them ride them up.

The bags for the skis are cheap to find. I think I got some at Goodwill before for $5-$10 each for ones that were like new. They can also be found cheap at Sni-a-grab (Labor Day weekend). Also check the ski swaps. Should be well under $20 each.

What about the side mount gutter rack? I have a couple of friends that use these with some luck. I think they swing up out of the way, but don't remember.
