I have never been praised for my navigational skills, and now one more person can attest to my lack of direction.:D Josh and I, and our respective passengers, my Gatemonkey, Josh's girls and brother in law, made our way through half of Sevenmile Rim. We did some parts more than once! I took more pictures, but my camera and I did not record some of the images I took. There was a pretty cool large shelf, slick rock, sand, steps... The canyon overlook was scenic, and we found a great arch, Uranium Arch. I do like this trail. There are a few challenges, like the steep descent to the arch that I opted out of, and great scenery.

3D Jeep Trail- Yes, we did most of this trail, and found a nice, narrow goat path to make our exit. I think that this trail has been recently created and is part of Bartlett/Hidden Canyon trails. It is not in the Wells book, nor my Utah guide. The Bartlett/Hidden Canyon trails are documented but all the signage is for 3D. The area to the north and west of Moab is a great area to get lost in...really. We did. I don't particularly care for going down a shelf that breaks like a shot going off on my passengers side while I hug the steep, shale-like path on the driver's side, watching the mesquite gouge my paint job. It was a lot of fun, and if we did not have to meet relatives for dinner, I would have finished the 3D loop instead of trying to find our way out based on four maps, a GPS and two guide books.
The trail has a number of shelf/steps and some fear-factor climbs. Good expanses of slickrock too. Hopefully Hugh will have video this weekend. I will recommend this trail and try it again when I have more time and navigational information.

It was a great time. I'm glad I got to get out there and see/wheel Moab for the first time and it won't be the last time. I'm hoping I can make the trip in Oct, but all depends on work. I'll have to post up some of the pics I got during the trip

JeepersCreepers- GREAT SHOTS! I love the scenic ones you took and the one of my truck where you cannot see me hanging out to see the position of my wheels.

Afraid I would fall out of the truck and do some real damage? I thought I was hiding it so well!

LaDawn can relate to that. When she drives, we tape a 2x4 block to the clutch pedal and put two pieces of ensolite padding on the car seat. Keep in mind that the seats are already raised, too. The seat goes about as far forward as it can and the seat back gets raised to the point of being almost straight.
Not to worry about the vertically challenged part. You more than make up for it with mental acumen. Look at any one of the taller guys heads on the forum and you will quickly see one of the drawbacks to being taller. I don't even remember when I didn't have some sort of ding on the top of my head...
