I must say the Rover guys are so friendly!!:thunb:
1500.00
127,000
100.00 for the new windshield.
New pollen filters, wipers, amorall 100.00
total cost to date 1800.00
Not bad eh?
Jeff? Maybe you could educate me on the auto climate control? I have the note book showing and intermittent AC and Heat.
No leaks form either system so I assume that a sensor of some sort is malfunctioning?
You tell me John, I'm down! I'll whip it as hard as Aaron!!!!

Get the codes read before beginning any HeVAC repair on a P38!!!
Typically, check relay #7 in the fuse box that is located in the engine compartment. Pull the relay and look at the bottom of it. If it's burnt, replace it with a new one and see if the book icon goes away.
It is probably the blend motors failed, a dealer doing it wil cost $1,000 to $3,000. It is not a fun job, but doable with some patience. The blend motors are sold in sets of three, and cost about $450. I was told that the average life span of a blend motor is about 4 years.
Hopefully it is not the AC evaporator, if so you might have a hard time doing it yourself and a dealer will be upwards in the $5000 range.
get to know this web site: http://rangerovers.net/
go here (http://www.rangerovers.net/newrremedies.htm) and scroll down to Air Conditioning/Climate Control
good luck!

Thanks! I have been reading up at the rover.net forum you mentioned, just haven't had time to really delve into it.
I guess if it's the Ac evap then it will not be fixed since I cannot afford 5000.00. Ouch!

It's a rare failure but a possibility I mentioned due only to you buying it so cheap. My money is on the blend motors.

Those were just done a little bit ago. My guess is fuse or relay.
I am glad you like it Jamie... It looks a lot better cleaned up!
Jeff - He is closer to Steve's house and is the man at JC Rovers. He is on a couple sites. I would look into the relay issue and such firt, and if you need the big part there are many P38 Rovers all over the net being parted out so you won't have to spend that huge amount.
I may be back in town WED and can help you do a few checks.

It is my parents old rig. They never used it and didn't want it to just sit there.
