Today was a great day, beautiful surroundings, great people and an all around good time. Trails were easy (2WD car easy) but I had a blast!

Looks nice, I think I recognize Phantom Canyon/Shelf Road, I can never remember which is which. Are the aspens past their peak?

There is actually a lot of green left on the trees, Next week and maybe (if lucky) the next weekend will be good!

I was a total slacker (and worked on stuff at home) and am sorry I didn't attend. Looks like it was a great ride.

Barb and I drove part of that today, got distracted when we saw The Bank at the south end of Shelf Road and took that instead of returning via Phantom Canyon. By the time we got back we decided to take the highway since it was getting dark.

There is a lot of random roads at "THE BANKS" also a lot of hiking and other fun. I could go back and explore what is there again!

Yeah, some times I wasn't sure it was a legit road. Some rarely used stuff in there, nice!

From what I understand there is 1 main road and a few spurs. The FS is looking to block off the illegal ones. Did you guys get a chance to hike the banks at all?

No, we didn't leave home until 11:00 so we didn't have much time. There are a lot of blocked trails right now. IIRC we were on 5285 most of the time. There were a few marked spurs open.
