View Full Version : Headlight Restoration
Roo

Roo's Windshield Repair has added Headlight Restoration to our list of services.
I can restore that cloudy, yellow headlight to like new condition. I also apply a U.V. hardcoat(similar to factory)over the lens to keep it looking new for years.
Restoration increases your night time visibility and increases your safety(you can see pedestrians, animals and other vehicles better and they can see you). Saves you money over replacing lenses and keeps those plastic lenses out of our landfills.:)
Here is a pic of a Grand Cherokee Laredo lense I did. I only restored half of it so I could show potential customers what kind of results they can expect.
Headlight restoration prices start at $79.95/set and there will be a discount for forum members. Just call me (720)256-7078 or send me a pm with your make and model.:thunb:

So Reese how long does it take to do a pair? And cost?

Takes about an hour maybe a little longer once I unmask around lights and clean up. Depends on how big the lenses are and to some extent how bad the lenses are. However most will fall into the price mentioned in original post minus FR 4x4 member discount. PM me with make and model and I will give you the bottom dollar. BTW, this includes mobile service to your house/work within (20min of I-25 & 144th) so you can spend the time doing something fun or making money. It would be nice to have a 110v outlet nearby too since my tools are electric.

Yes I can do a motorcycle lens too! Not sure about getting all the rock pecks out though. Depends on how deep they are. Is it cloudy and dingy too?

Probably couldn't do much with it then Randy. Are they deep pits? The main purpose of HL restoration is to remove the original clouded up coating from the factory, so the light can shine through the lens again and improve visibility. If they are shallow pits then they might come out and be filled it with the sealer I apply but if they are deep they are probably there to stay. I guess I would just have to see it.

yeah its not a problem, they are fairly shallow. the clarity is fine though. i dont sweat it too much as i run a 35w hid in one and a 130w halogen in the other.. :D

I am in Longmont and have a fleet of plow trucks,(Dodge 2500's) that need chip repair. I have about 5 or 6 trucks that have 1 to 4 or 5 chips in the windshield. What kind of deal can we work out? Pm me and I can call you or you can call me.

I didn't think the tail lights would need it but it does happen occasionally.

Can you do anything for old glass lenses? My '87 CRX is horrible, but I cant find a fix that works and no one sells replacements for them.
Andrew
November 16th, 2009, 03:26 PM
What if I only need one lens done - and what if it's glass?
I'm not sure what the issue is with it other than being old - and my other lesn was replaced by the dummy who ran a stop sign several years ago and ripped the fender off my Maxima among other things.

Glass sealed beams are so cheap it would be alot cheaper just to replace it. Above is a link to the CRV headlamp.
Sorry guys wish I could help you out.

The headlamp on my Maxima is $190ish.
Roo
November 16th, 2009, 04:09 PM
What year Maxima? You positive it's not plastic?
Andrew
November 16th, 2009, 04:10 PM
I'm not positive, so I could be wrong. It's a 97.
Andrew
November 16th, 2009, 04:13 PM
hmmm...I found better prices at RockAuto. But they list a "composite" for like $38 so I'm guessing that's plastic, then they have some for $105, but doesn't say composite.
Roo
November 16th, 2009, 04:28 PM
I would bet it's plastic on that year model. Almost all autos went to plastic in early 90's. It would be half the special or $30 this week Ft. Collins is a little further than I like to go but hopefully we could work something out... Do you work up there too?
Andrew

Glad you posted up, I might have some business for you! I'll pass your info along and tell him to mention my name. He's doing some other work on the car now, he might want to get that done first.
Another question... What is the best way to keep the lenses clear? Mine looked great but I'm having a hard time keeping them that way and there are some bad scratches.
Roo
November 22nd, 2010, 10:34 AM
Do you know what the scratches are from? You should just be able to put a coat of polish on them. But if the scratches are bad they might need my polisher. I don't mind coming and touching them up for you sometime when I am over that way...n/c of course!
Smash
November 22nd, 2010, 10:49 AM
What type of polish? I've just been using the PlasticX stuff once every few weeks as the lenses cloud up. Maybe a touch up in the spring! Not worried about it now with winter on it's way. Thank you!
