hehee........2 things.....
1) Its really annoying when you go on Youtube and type in Rock Crawling.....and get a bunch of kids with their RC units. Wish they would call it something else. Kind of a let down when you want to see someone styling a line in Moab, and its just a little RC car (they look remarkably similar in small "thumbnail" pictures, so its hard to tell.
2) Second, parts for my Samurai, or should I say former Samurai, are cheaper then most of the stuff for those RC Crawlers.
Other then that, I think they are way cool. The few times I have given in to watching the vids on Youtube, I've been pretty amazed at what they will stick to. Its too bad that messing up a line in real life is as inconsequential as rolling an RC car. I'm sure its a ton of fun, but for the price of some of the stuff I have seen, I'd rather put it into a rig that I can actually wheel in myself. That probably came off sounding like I don't like them, which is wrong. If I had extra money to spend and didn't need anything for my rig, then I'd probably buy one just to mess around with.

I agree with you Haku cool toys but can't see spending that much on them. however walmart had one a few years ago that was about $100 and it looked like it did pretty well. But when it came down to it i put the $100 into my truck instead. Still would be really cool though.
on a side note i can't belive how advanced RC have become. I was looking at an RC jet the other day. YUP RC JET! the thing looked like it was about 12 feet long and had me drooling. :D

The helicopters are downright amazing. I've seen real video of those doing stuff that you would think is impossible.....
YouTube - T-REX 700 RC HELICOPTER STUNTS
and my buddy Josh using his new RC copter.....
YouTube - Himhoe T700N FBL
I thought it was faked at first, but I trust my buddy to not blow smoke up my ass.

It's a Team Losi. It's been forever since I actually knew what the name of it was. It's electric and I got it probably 6 years ago, I used to race at HobbyTown and stuff like that but now I just occasionally charge up a pack and drift it around street corners near my house :D

I have never seen an RC 4x4 3D heli before, Randy! I don't think anyone else has either. Wanna post a picture of it?
Bren and Bear both have a couple of RC 4x4s that are tricked out. Bren isn't on the forum, but I think Bear is as 4LoLo. They both take 'em out with their kids.
I can't get into them, myself. Bear and Bren let me play with theirs, but after 15 minutes, I am bored to tears. I would rather spend my $$ on my real rig... Those guys can play with them all day.

I have a coax helicopter, a blade something or other. It has been shelved for while, it got too frustrating for me to constantly be burning up $10-20 everytime I wrecked the dang thing. I will probably break it back out when the snow starts flying.

RRC = Range Rover Classic, it is what I drive. I would also settle for a Land Rover Discovery. :thunb: I have thought about looking more for one when I get a couple bucks free

Thanks, it did pretty good. I finished it a week before nationals in Moab, I placed in the top 10... 9th I think.
Pretty good considering I only drove it 3 or 4 times before the event.
It has worm gear axles, 20:1 ratio at the axles. Helps prevent axle lift on the real light crawlers, due to reduced torque on the driveshafts. Also it won't free-roll, which is really nice when coming down super steep obstacles. Especially since a reverse motion causes points to be taken (actually added, low score wins).
The cost of the rc's isn't cheap... It can be done cheap but I'm not sure which I spent more on, my Sammy or RC's... I've got a giant Rubbermaid tote full of tires (can easily be $60 a set)

You can buy me some bigger tires, or Longfield axle shafts, or an exo cage, or a new more powerfull engine or.........ok, I can go on like that for a long time. Needless to say, I can find many things to spend my money on other then $200 worth of RC car tires and rims.
