Please try to remember to keep the person behind you in sight on trail runs.

Thank you:D

and when you get to an intersection, WAIT for everyone to catch up. IF there is a section that has to be blasted through, go through it then get to a good spot to stop and wait as well.

Yep, it felt like we had two runs going there for a while Sunday. Made me a little nervous considering the conditions. I'm no longer young and fearless.

well its no fun when the group gets broken up and half go one way and the other half keep going and wonder where everyone is behind them.

Not sure when this will be understood and comprehended.

probably never. On motorcycle rides, it's up to the leader to make sure everyone is still with the group. But, this might be different, I've only led a few Forester runs (always made sure we were all together).

This isn't really any different with the exception being that we usually don't nominate a true 'leader'. That description simply applies to anyone in front of the group, but anyone getting in front needs to realize this..

I usually don't like being in front because people tend to follow the rig in front..up obstacles or over them. Chris hates being behind me for that reason as my rig doesn't pay too much attention to obstacles or large rocks on the trail due to (the driver, but we won't go there) the clearance I have and the way it is set up..and it tends to throw off the lines people behind me would normally take.

Yeah, just sounds like the runs are set up differently with different expectations.

I always have to remind myself not to follow Pete but the natural tendency is to do just that. But what the hell, I can do anything he can.

well the good etiquette is as long as every person keeps the vehicle behind them in view no one will get separated. If there is an obstacle that needs to be crossed wait on the other side with enough room for everyone to regroup. at turns wait for the person behind you to see which direction you turn and so on. its not hard to stick to these simple requests, but i guess when someone is left behind they will be like "those bastards didnt wait" and get a taste of their own medicine

Yeah, just sounds like the runs are set up differently with different expectations.

The expectation with any off-road trail run is that everyone is responsible for keeping the group together. The leader is responsible only for the person behind him or her. The second person watches the third, and so on.

As Winky says, it's a simple rule and one all should follow: Always Safety First.

Lardcakes come second.

You should bring your rc crawler to play with, that way you wont be bored or tempted not to wait haha!

Very simple and effective.

On the snow run, there was a spot where there was weird loop and some of us ended up in front of the leaders!!

Haha, it had everyone so confused- it was hilarious though (we all made it back together- CBs help a lot)

AGREED! Why we have to keep reiterating this, I am not sure.

Can we make a rule that we will either hand out lard cakes or beating sticks, depending on the situation?

because on every trail ive been on and not leading the group has been split up and or someone take a wrong turn...

it would be nice to go on a trail run and not have to get on the cb and ask which way did everyone go....? Or where is everyone in front of me?

The last one I led, I think people were tired of hearing me ask if they were keeping the guy behind them in sight.*

Not touching it. "A" for clarity.

Repetition's not a bad thing on trail runs.

I haven't gone on many ( okay 2 ) trail runs and would agree with this.... it is better that all stick together....
Most def for the new guys like myself... sometimes I'm not real sure what to do and knowing that the guy in front of me is there to help, I feel better.
I really liked how Chris always made sure that Keith and I were alright. If he went around a bend and didn't see me he would back up to make sure things were okay. Thank you Chris.

Biggest thing is we have such varied levels of experience in our group that a few folks forget to keep an eye out for those either with less experience or less capabilities and this is not good at all like said before here. We all need to watch out for each other regardless our experience and capabilities.
It is everyone's responsibility period!
