Does anyone have any recommendations for manual locking hubs for a 89 pick up?
I had mine apart today replacing a wheel stud and the spring broke:erm:. I've called every auto parts store as well as the toyota dealer and no one just sells the springs. So, do I go with Aisin for lots of money, or are there any aftermarket hubs that are worth a damn?
Thanks for any advice.

Warn makes em as well (not sure about for your truck) but knowing Warn's winches....it's gonna be pricey

Actually the Warns are cheaper than the Aisins but I'm not sure which are better.

If you can wait till Pete gets back, he might have some lying around.

get the Aisins they are much stronger than the warn unit. Also no need to spend too much on them just hit up the junkyards or online you can almost always find some use for not too much. Do send Brody a pm he's out of town right now, but he may have one or at least know where one is.

89 is IFS which is much easier to find in the junk yard than the solid axle hubs. It should be pretty easy to find a whole set.

Agreed, go junkyard searching. Barring that, call Yota Jim and he is nearly guaranteed to have what you need.

I got AISIN's on my cruiser and they work great. And my toyota is close to yours in age (1988)

Oh yeah......from everything I have seen, stick with the Toyota brand ones (aisin). Warn don't get you anything, and the Toy ones area easy to find.

Get used Aisins... I might even have a few. I know Marlin sells rebuild kits. Not sure that it includes the springs.

I went to visit Yoda Jim today and ended up walking out with a set of Aisin hubs and a nearly new idler arm. All for under 100 bucks! I love that place. Thanks again.
