My wife lost her job today and I've been without one for a year now (what's up with companies letting people go right before holidays?). We'll be ok for a few weeks, but we'll need jobs fast to not get behind on bills. If you know about anything, please let me know. In the meantime, I'm pretty good with the wrench, got my own tools, I can do/help with most auto related stuff. Wife is great with kids (babysitting), cosmetics, cleaning...

Looking for a job sucks!

****.

I'll keep my eyes open.

I wish I could pay you to do work (teach me how) to Rhino but I don't have the $ I'll let karla know to look too.

You guys hang in there. Please give Lisa a hug from us.

Bad news. Sorry to hear that, Kubo.

Are you all looking for anything in particular, job-wise?

I believe Securitas is still hiring in both the Aurora branch and the Fort Collin's branch. The Fort Collins branch has many sites down in the Boulder/Broomfield area. Aurora is more Denver area

That really sucks. I think that it's just dirty and unnecessary of companies to do that around the holidays. Please post up or PM me your and your wife's skillsets, the company I work for in Boulder will be expanding, I can't guarantee anything but we will be hiring a lot of people in the next few years.

Yep, please post your skills and what you want to be doing. I attend multiple networking events every week which have been very helpful. I am also very involved on LinkedIn which has led to interviews.

In case you are interested, I interviewed with a call center for a company Convergys. They are at I-70 and Peoria. Will be hiring more candidates. $12 per hour with hours anywhere from 6AM to 6PM. Beats a poke in the eye, but certainly not great wages. I also have leads into other potential jobs if I can get an idea of what might fit.

Thank you all for your sympathy. Chris, great idea with the employment section! I have posted my resume on there (http://www.frontrange4x4.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7614). At this point, I don't really have much of a choice as to where I would like to work, but it does need to pay enough that I can feed my family and afford to move out of my mother in law's house. If possible, I'd like my wife to be able to stay at home (or at the most get a P/T job) as I've been at home (with my daughter) since January. I'll make Lisa get her resume ready and I'll post that in a day or two.
I will go out next week to get applications and look for a job. If nothing else, I'll just have to get something to keep us afloat til I can find something good. I don't wanna be picky, but I also don't wanna get screwed over. Thanks again and keep em coming guys :thunb:

I looked at your resume and would be surprised if you couldn't find some SpEd work again, typically they have a horrific times finding reliable people. I know the pay sucks though. Good luck in your search!

I might give that a try part time. In the time I was doing it I only worked my way up to $10.85/hr (from 8). It was an easy job though, and nice thing is that I could do that part time.

Btw, thanks Randy for giving Chris the idea! :thunb:

I was posting on here thinking that while we look for a job, if anybody needs (or know somebody that does) any related help that could get us some cash, please let me know. I know it's a long shot, but worth a try :o All help and info is greatly appreciated though! I love this forum! :thunb:

There's also awesome school grants out there if you want to try to get into a new field. People who are unemployed are probably eligible for the most. When I finished school, my GI bill payed the mortgage and the Army Reserves paid my tuition. The Army money hurt my eligibility for grants. You might be able to get grants for tuition and room/board.

Sorry to hear that! I have no idea why companies do that either. Losing my job last year was my Christmas bonus/present, too. I did get a turkey and a bottle of wine, but still no foreplay or a kiss before I got F***ed...

ALL the emissions test places are always hiring. I worked there 1 week almost 15 years ago. It was going to be my summer job. After 1 week of the 2 week training, I just couldn't deal with the morons for $8/hour. I am sure the pay is still the same.

Yup, I was at the one in Thornton yesterday, noticed the sign. If they were on commission I'd be on that right away. They were running around like crazy on Monday (line out to the street) and yesterday. No thanks, I need a paying job :p I've sent out some resumes these past few days, Lisa applied for unemployment last week, we're working on it. I'm willing to accept odd jobs that pay right away (for now) :thunb:
