Whoa. After reading the thread, I think the only thing I would run that hard would be a good 4x4 ATV.

cruisers are build hella strong....then again jumping it and landing into a ravine probably wasnt in the factory tests

And this is why you don't jump a rig that is not built for it.... guess it could have been worse

it appears through his lack of driving skill that he managed to hit dead on that shackle and force the spring pack back on itself causing the bends, then catch the bottom leaf and bend it further. it wasnt caused from jumping IMO.

I think it was an after effect of jumping...like he nosed it into the ground and right smack onto the shackle.

Another good reason for a shackle reversal. ;)

yea, that way you just rip the fangs off of your frame, probably ripping a large hole in it instead of damaging the replaceable leaf springs :D

I was replying to Scout Man's observation but must not have hit "reply with quote."

Plus, I don't plan to jump the 40 any time soon. It would only happen unintentionally. Kind of like the semi-aerial trick I did with the FJC at CORE.

Don't get me wrong, I love my shackle reversal and would do it again. I also, however, have no intention of jumping my rig... at least more than one or two tires at a time. You will never see all 4 of my tires in the air unless it is on its back waiting for a belly rub. Hell, if I jumped my rig, with the reverse shackle, I wouldnt only be worried about the fangs in front, but the landing would force compression on my rig and I would nose dive hard. I would worry more about an endo if the jump had that much force.
