Well friends I will be moving to the Portland area very quickly. I got a job offer with ON semiconductors. And it's too good of an offer to pass up. So I will be living out in the Pacific Northwest until I can make it back, which of course I will jump at as soon as possible!

Well on a good note I'm glad to see that you found some work.... on a sad note, sorry to hear that you will be leaving us. We all have to do what we have to to survive. I wish you the best of luck with the job...

As long as we can stop for some steelhead fishing up there, I am in!
Congrats on the job!

Glad that you landed a good position out there! My sister lives in Portland and loves it. She won't move back to CO now! ;)

That's awesome news Jon! My sister-in-law has a place in Newport, so maybe the red SCRubbi will have to make a trip out to visit.

I know a bunch of Coloradans that have moved there and really like it. They probably make the same kind of comments that we do about Texans and Californians. Congrats on finding a job. I think you'll like it up there. From the sounds of it, there are just as many outdoor enthusiasts as Colorado, so I'm sure you'll have a great time when you can get away from work.

Congrats! We'll be sure to send pictures of sunny days in the Colorado rockies. Hell, we'll even send pictures of the sun to help you remember! :D

thanks! it should be a fun change of scenery for a few years. My goal is to go up there for 3-5 years finish school, gain some experience in the field and then get back to colo with one of the local companies. the NW is a pretty cool place but it's not CO. so i'll enjoy my time while i'm there but also look forward to coming back home. I'll still be frequent here though keeping up with the trail runs.

Sorry to see you moving, but on the other hand, congratulations on the job! There have been a bunch of trail reports in various magazines about the wheeling in Oregon, so you are in for some good wheeling adventures, too.
It is a beautiful state. I have spent some time there and have done some rock climbing and exploring. It isn't anywhere near as raining as everyone makes out, either. I think people that live there want everyone to think that it is rainy and gloomy all the time so that no one moves there. It is also nice to have the ocean to visit...
Please do keep in touch. We are going to miss you! Maybe Chris will make an exception and let you stay on the forum....

Congrats on the job, I have two sisters living in Portland, one won't come back and the other is dying to come home here. I enjoyed it last June when I went up there for a week with the exception of the cloudy days 4 outta 5. Hope you enjoy it and wish you luck and a safe move.

Congratulations on the job! That's great news. Like others have said, I bet you're going to love it up there. I agree with Pete, it's not as rainy as everyone makes it out to be.... Have fun hitting the trails up there, look forward to hearing all about it!

Congrats on work.
I've heard lots of nice things about the northwest, I'm sure it will at least be beautiful.

Sad to see you go brother, but happy for you as well. I lived in Tacoma Washington for a bit. Lots of outdoor activities, you'll love it!! Buy a good rain poncho! :lmao:

Congratulations! Please send pictures of the new locale. I went once and thought it was pretty, and you take nice pictures, so please keep posting up. Maybe at some point on one of your visits I will meet you on the trail, finally. :-)
