Hey Front Range 4x4. I have been bouncing off of Rock and Trees for many moons. I have run Toyotas, Jeeps, Fords, Subaru’s, and GMs, on all types of trails all times of the Year. I currently run a (built with my own hands) 1989 GMC K5. I have 'Only' Rolled 2 times so I still have 7 Lives left. Look for the Red K5 (Red Rhino) on the trail. I am psyched to meet you all. See my 4x4 Specs below.

Hey Bryan! Nice to see another full size on the site. Sweet looking rig, too.

Great to have someone else on the site who has wheeled a mess of different 4x4s, too. They all wheel if you build them right, don't they?

Hope to see you on the trails soon.

BTW...how do you like the dual 3" Flowmasters as far as low end torque goes? Last rig with a V8 I had, I got better low end and mid range response running duals into a single 3".

I squeezed in a 3" H pipe also. The 3" system made a big difference in both low and mid torque and HP above 3000 RPM. Thank for the great posts guys.

I like the K5 because I have Wife and 2 kids and camping gear to take wheeling. Chevy parts are cheap and easy to replace. This is my 2nd K5, because I had an 'Earls Braided Brake Line' fail which caused me to roll backwards on a very steep climb. I now run big disk brakes front and rear with brake line strong enough to hold a Dana 60 if the suspension would brake. The stock Chevy roll bar saved my life. So why change horses.

I am looking to build a full roll cage cheap but strong, if any one has any ideas.

I moved your cage information request to this thread:

And posted an answer.
