123456, password, and princess don't count (http://www.tomshardware.com/news/imperva-rockyou-most-common-passwords,9486.html)

Check and see how good your password is here (http://www.passwordmeter.com/).

Does your password suck? Then try making a new one here (http://www.goodpassword.com/). The "leet password" generator on the right is quite nifty, too. You enter a phrase, and it spits out a password. Something like:

Front Range is awesome=Fr14

There's some good stuff, what people use for their ATM passwords is amazing as well and easier to crack since they're typically only 4 digits.

Fr14 isn't a good password though.

At work I use obscure names from books I like. Throw in a capital and a number somewhere. Easier to remember since they have to change every 30 days. My standard ones are much stronger passwords, but since I have to change them I can't use them.

OK, I'm feeling a little sarcastic, but, you go to this site and tell them your password?

Yes... but if you are feeling unsure about the site, go to it on a random library computer and type in a password. A password with no connection to where it goes is pretty pointless. Or just type in something else to see what makes a good password.

I do see what you mean though. But, they do not seem to have an actual interest in your password. Only in showing you how strong/weak it is.
