Well, the :princess: got a new rig anyways. Maybe now we can get her to enjoy off roading more. She has always said she doesnt like riding in the scout because she isnt in control, so now maybe since she has something to drive she will want to go more often!!

I've already started the nagging :D I figure first thing I can get her to sign off on is a good steel bumper up front. Then after she takes it wheeling the first time, she will realized the benefit of some rock sliders... after that is the push for a small lift and a little larger tires.

There is a decent chance of it. We are thinking of camping up there that weekend and she said she would want to take it. Sounds like a great trail for her to get comfortable with the thing and not run too much risk of messing it up.

oh, and to answer robs first question, no, its not new, just new to us. It is a 2004 sport edition with 75,xxxx. Worked out a decent deal, even got the dealer to throw in a brand new soft top for it.

yea, its pretty nice. The top was in poor shape, but we will be getting a new one for it from the dealer. Other than that I wasnt horribly impressed when we first picked it up. It really wasnt ready to be sitting on the lot. It was filthy inside and out. They promised us a detailing though when we go back for the top. Seeing as that will probably be a month or so, i washed it and armor-alled the hell out of it today, and now it looks great! It actually looks and feels like a newly purchased car now!

hmm 2" bb lift, sliders, 285's on 16" wheels and it will fit right in. Good buy:thunb: and congrats to her on her purchase.

How much are they charging you for the top? Or are they? Bestop was having a sale. I considered getting their TrekTop because I currently have a hardtop and it doesn't require the soft top hardware, plus it looks pretty good.

They are providing us with a new one for free. If I were buying, I would probably do some form of an upgraded top, but you just cant argue with free. We were walking out the door because I jsut wouldnt buy it with the top the way it was, and they called up back with promises of a free top! Played that one right!

ah, I knew it was coming, jsut couldnt stand buying a new vehicle that didnt look like a new vehicle. It was bothering me. Was nice driving around with the top off in a tshirt yesterday, but glad the top went back on before today.

Question for you Jeep people. The new jeep has factory fog lights on the front, but there is no switch inside to turn them on, and they dont turn on with the headlights. How are these supposed to turn on?? The only other one i have been in with the fog lights had an aftermarket switch on the dash to wire them.

Keep up the good work! I think we need a couple more "dumpers" to get our water for the summer. :)

Finally finished the dang financing issues with the dealer tonight. They really pissed me off, but all in all we got what we wanted out of the deal, and they were really pissed off at me for playing hardball. Both of these statements make me very happy :D I did want to say do NOT ever go to "Colorado Springs Dodge." They very much played games with us and got us to sign a deal that they did not actually have financing to back up. There plan was obviously that we would fall in love with the jeep then when they came back with a higher price we would take it anyways because we didnt want to loose the jeep. Well, it kind of backfired on them because we were perfectly willing to back out of the deal all together, and their lowball offer gave us every legal right to back out as long as they did not match the offer 100%. We ended up walking out with a brand new soft top, $360 to make up for the incomptence of their pre-sale vehicle inspeciton, and an additional $1,000 off just so they could make the financing work. Oh, forgot to mention that yesterday the floor manager setup and appointment with us for 7:00 tonight.. when we showed up he wasnt even there. He had gone home for the night. I almost handed in the keys right there and left, but it probably actually worked out a bit in our favor. (I had him right where I wanted him though, as he had changed to calling me "sir" every other word instead of trying to be my buddy.) All in all I think this place saw a young couple with no previous car loans and assumed they could push us aruond a manipulate us. I would NEVER recommend buying a vehicle from them, and if you do, make sure the paper work is 100% intact when you leave, and take it to a mechanic first. Also, both times we left there was a part of the paper work they "forgot" to give us. This time it was the "We Owe" page stating that they owe us the soft top and money. Fortunately we caught it before walking out the door.
I was going to put this in the vendor section, but didnt know if it was appropriate or not. I think we need a Vendor wall of shame, for non FR sponsors that we would never recommend doing business with again.
