My 1977 F150, only needs a motor rebuild, and it could be back on the trail. I plan on swapping in a NP435 4 speed into it in the grand scheme of things. Which isnt really a big deal, because all of the parts are already here, because they are sitting in a 79 Bronco. However, i have spent much more time focusing on my B2, and things are starting to come together for it, but its still a ways out. I am thinking about just bitting the bullet, and putting the b2 on hold until after i get the 77 going again. I just dont want to end up with 2 half finished vehicles in the process, and still not have a trail rig. Is it worth it to put the B2 on hold, and just go ahead and fix the 150?

I'd say that if the f-150 is an easier, faster, fix, then thats worth doing first. Then you can really focus on getting the B2 exactly how you want it. If they both take the same amount of time to finish, then stick with the what you are already working on.

Thats my :2c:

The f150, is alot less work. Just needs the transmission swap, and a new motor. The b2 still needs the entire engine compartment reconfigured, as well as marring of 2 different generations of wiring harnesses, as well as axle swaps, and a 5 spd trani rebuilt.

Seems like an easy answer to me then. Do the engine/tranny swap in the f-150 so you have something to wheel, then take your time and get it right with the B2. Definitely something you want to do, especially with wiring. Thats what I think at least.

Thats the way i am leaning, i just need a push to convince myself. I really just need to get back on the trail! The 77 does alright, buts nothing special. Open front and rear, and it has 3.73 gears, and a boat load of body damage from my friend...But its on brand new 33x10.5R15's BFG KM's that i still havent gotten to try out.

Also, if anyone knows where i can pick up a used flatbed to replace an 8ft bed let me know. I would like to restore this truck someday, and want to prevent as much body damage as possible. Sliders are going to be a must.

I'm planning on a flatbed here soon too. Seems like $100-150 in steel plus some time would get you a decent custom flatbed. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, just functional.
