My wife just heard this on the radio. I had two listings on here which I just removed, kind of disturbing. It had my address for both the house in Texas and the one here. It also had my interests/hobbies, price I paid for my current home, my occupation, and a phone number, which isn't supposed to be listed.

I am no longer a 25 year old black man living in the slums with my 4 kids and my wife who, interestingly enough, lives in a 1+ million dollar home with her 2 kids.

Aside from the association to my wife, obviously none of the above is true. It did have my address as well

That is very disturbing. It seems to me that since you have to pay to get your info removed, would that be blackmail? Since you never gave permission to post all of your info in the first place. I guess you can thank the "Patriot Act" for this one too.

Pay? I didn't have to pay to get it removed, just posted a copy of the URL into the field, my email address and verified the word in the box. It sends you an email with a link to complete the removal.

I checked that out a couple days ago. They can leave my info posted, it's all public information available elsewhere. All spokeo does is gather public information from numerous sources and put it in one place. I'll leave it because it's so inaccurate it's amusing. Apparently I'm a Libra (wrong) I live in a million dollar home (wrong) in a below average neighborhood (right) for the past 4 years (wrong), don't have any kids (wrong), have a graduate degree (wrong), enjoy shopping (wrong), and don't get involved in politics (wrong). Oh yeah, my middle initial is wrong too. :lmao:

I'd pay a couple bucks to see more about myself but just don't care enough about this kind of site. Anyone that's concerned about stuff posted should not start searching because it'll be pretty disturbing. Punch your name in to Google and you'll get name, address, and phone number complete with a map to your house. There are 2 things I recommend, plant disinformation and lock your credit reports down which is free under Colorado law.

Oh yeah, be careful what you post on social sites but it's probably too late for most of you. :lmao:

I personally don't really care if someone has my address or tele number. What are they gonna do? come rob me? well there will be a nice little bullet witht heir name on it. if they start calling me, I'll report it to the police, who can get a restraining order. It's amazing how many places you can find info about someone. just be smart and don't go posting your SSN or any credit/bank account information

I wouldn't even bother to try to get me or my family members removed. You have to give your email address which is what they're probably trying to harvest in the first place. Also, others will try to update their profile to make it accurate (WHY???). Your friends and family already know how to get in touch with you. It's a facebook-wannabe site.

My daughter is apparently a male living in a $M+ home in Minneapolis. My husband is apparently unmarried and has no children. Hmmm. I have been kidding myself for 23 years I guess!
