So the more and more i look at the Ranger the more i find wrong with it.

So here's what i'm thinking....
Getting a Bronco II, since it is basically a SUV Ranger, with a bad tranny or engine. Swapping every thing from the Ranger over (engine, tranny, lift, whatever else it needs.) Then tear into or sell the ranger and fix all the problems. Maybe swap in a 302/347 and solid axle.

Whats everyone's opinion? Good idea bad idea?

I like both. The Ranger is a little easier to mod the body.

What is so wrong with the Ranger that justifies gutting it, and later rebuilding it?

A lot of random wires hanging everywhere that lead to nothing, and im not the greatest with wiring. Would also like to have a few extra seats.

Mines like that too, I'm going to go through hopefully next week, or this weekend and find out whwere they all go and what I can remove
;)

After I do, If you want me to I could come over and help you out with that after I do mine.
As well as adjust your throttle cable if it needs it. :)

As long as you stay 88 or older the swap shouldn't be all that hard, which motor is in your Ranger?

2.9
Then from everything i have read up on, its just a bolt in swap. No wires or anything to really worry about. unless you got a B2 with the 2.8 which i havent seen to many of

He was originally planning on taking his ranger guts and shoving them into the B2, so it would have been a 2.9 to 2.9 swap. I did build a wiring harness to do my own 4.0L swap in a BII a few years back, but never dropped it in. Its a good swap.

It's just sitting in the back garage. I've been slowly selling parts off it.
