What are good stores to look for quality audio systems?

Whether it's online or a physical store?

I'm looking for a new stereo Unit, speakers, and subs

I've got an amp
JBL Audio.
:)

Any suggestions?

Also, can you find good car audio equipment at the junkyards?

I can fit4 "6x8" speakers all the way around, including tweeters and all that

and 2 "8inch Subs" or "10inch Subs" with the Box I get, or make.
I can fit both, and have found boxes prebuilt for both.

Haven't gotten the size of the stereo unit I can put in yet, but I want one with an AUX/iPod jack in it.

In a standard cab truck, I wouldn't waste money on the rear speakers(if you have them). Just replace the door speakers with higher end units. Junkyard shopping of quality stereo parts is not likely to result in anything decent. Most people with good stereos will yank them before junking a car.

I have a slightly used Eclipse CD-3200 I want to sell, with iPod adapter. http://www.eclipse-web.com/us/cd/cd3200overviews.html Maybe $180 if you are interested.

But if you want to look at new stuff, I'd suggest looking at Car Toys, Ultimate Electronics, Quality Auto Sound, etc., then buying online from Amazon, Crutchfield, other places like that.

Hmmh, I'm not too worried about the rear ones now, but If I ever have extra money to spend I would replace them,

I can't figure out how to tell if a stereo would fit, well, or not.

Do you know where I could look that up?
Because I may be interested in that too.

The Eclipse will fit. Any single DIN unit will fit in a Ranger. Crutchfield will tell you what fits though.(www.crutchfield.com)

hmmh, alright.

I may be interested in that then
;)

Once again however, as soon as I get a job.

And what I meant by it fitting, was more the depth, because a friend of mine has one that sticks way out and looks ridiculous, but it does.
: )

So I may be interested when the time comes

ALSO; Does anybody know how to build a subwoofer box?

I'm looking at one similar to this

Crutchfield

Honestly I would never go with anything but Crutchfield. I went through the same dilemma a few months ago when I was upping my stereo system. Crutchfield has such good customer service and good prices.

http://www.frontrange4x4.com/forums/showthread.php?7789-Cruiser-update

I got a package deal from Crutchfield which included the H/U with rear speakers (6.5") and then bought the fronts extra (4.25")
The nice thing about crutchfield is for the most part...they will send you any wiring harnesses and install kits they have/can so it makes it pretty painless when it comes to install the stuff. Plus if for some reason they say what you want wont fit, they will help you figure out what would be a better option.

Boy oh boy. You got more plans for that Ranger than all of us have put together

My minds full of plans and ideas

Matt and Chris;

Music is just my whole life.

At minimum I need a new head unit.
;p

Subs next,
Then new speakers, they're already decent.

But, I'm going to do as much of this as I can while taking advantage of not having to pay rent
;)

I think that's your understatement for April.

Music is just my whole life.

Music can be important but your whole life? Are you a musician?

Well, maybe not my whole life,
But incredibly important to me.

I'm not really a musician,
I try to play guitar. But I fail. Miserably

I think that's your understatement for April.

Your still at K-Marts?

I moved up to the Walgreens.

But I still go oldschool, so 7-11 is still there sometimes

;p

Don't even THINK about knocking over a 7-Eleven!

I don't think my truck could completely knock over the whole building though.

I can try!
I think I just might,
And then hey, theres an open cash register.
:D
