So, after many years of heading to South Dakota on Memorial Day weekend, we decided to change directions and are going to Taos. Typically these trips are not wheeling trips. We bring the truck and the camper and do the tourist sight seeing thing and relax. I'm thinking this one will be the same, however, bringing the Jeep is an option.

Basically, for those of you who have been there, what should we do while in Taos? Is it worth the trouble to bring the Jeep and hit an easy (since it would just be us) trail or should we be tourists and sight see?

I just got back from there, it didnt really seem like there much do there. North west of there there i think carson state park? There was some wheeling there but they had way to much snow. 3-5'. I asked the lady at the gas station what there was to do and she said nothing. :erm:.

I have been, we used to go up to Santa Fe and Taos quite a bit when we lived in El Paso. I couldn't tell you about any of the wheeling opportunities, lots of galleries and jewelery shops, kind of like a miniature version of Santa Fe only not so yuppie and a little more picturesque in my opinion being closer to the mountains. The Pueblo was pretty cool to see. There's a lot to do, all we ever really did though was just chilled and walked around.

It has been a couple of yrs so things might have changed a little bsafe take care

As far as I know, there is very little wheeling. The websites folks have posted will be a great help. I'm hoping to get down to Taos again soon!
