so, here is the story...
A few weeks ago, my girlfriends neighbors were moving out and throwing away all of their old furniture as they were moving over seas. one of the items they were throwing away was a 60 inch tv. it was big and was one of those rear projection lcd ones. so I went out that night and went dumpster diving to find that the tv fit with about an inch on all four sides of room in my 4runner. got it home and set up, and there is a green tint all over the screen. so I figured I would just live with it, whatever. was doing some re-search yesterday to see about getting it fixed, and found out it was a known issue with these t.v.'s. Sony did a huge recall on them and re[aired most of them, but the recall ended in july of '09. So I figured I was screwed and decided to call sony to get an estimate on fixing it. I also found out that this was a 5000 dollar t.v. back in '06. sony offered me a brand new 46 inch led edge lit tv for FREE. that's right, free. all I have to do is send them a photo of the problem and the serial tag on the back of the tv and I get a free tv. isn't it great? this is the t.v. I am getting: http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666077677
