What are some good more modern metal bands?

I haven't really heard anything new.

Anything in Sub-Genres like Death-Core, Death Metal, Shred Metal?

Five finger death punch is pretty good, and they are from denver, bullet for my valentine is really hard, theres lots of new bands out, some really good local bands, the westword has concert schedules for bars and clubs around town...there is usually something going on every weekend. I think some of the best metal came out of the 80's Dio's pretty hard to beat!

I was really pumped to see lamb of god, when we went last year, we got really drunk before the concert and JTW and I got kicked out...each of us by ourselves, we met up 6 blocks down the street on colfax...good times...They will be at birthday bash this year, Im going!

And Lamb of God is good, but, if you guys didn't notice, there seems to be a recurring theme of, Lamb of God is good.

Uh huh....elderly kinda like Morgan Freeman in " The Contract", too, or Clint Eastwood in "The Unforgiven". That kind of elderly....

To me, Death Metal and Grunge Rock are where all the people with no talent kinda ended up....nothing new, nothing original, crappy and stupid lyrics, etc, but, then again, I feel the same way about Rap music...
